The Custard-I Chronicles: Descent of Dessert
“We’re going where?” Avenger wondered, as the three Custard-Is made their way away from Teh City now, Pibb having sensed something.
“To the Desert of Desserts…” Pibb answered, “Something is happening…And an old…friend…seems to be back as well.”
“You don’t mean Pepper, do you?” Hammah wondered, walking along behind the two.
“No…Not Pepper,” Pibb answered, shaking his shaggy head, “A girl…”
There was some silence, then the proverbial light bulb went over Avenger’s and Hammah’s heads.
“Oohh…okay…” Hammah muttered, “Your sister.”
Avenger and Pibb both sweat dropped at Hammah’s comment, but continued on, Avenger pulling back to explain to the former llama.
Meanwhile, somewhere behind the Custard-Is and keeping out of sight and being sensed, AGoI and Jimi tread carefully.
“My stomach’s doing knots Professor…” Jimi muttered as they got closer and closer to the Dessert Desert. “Somethin’ don’t feel right.”
“I know what you mean,” AGoI answered, stopping suddenly and pausing, then glanced at a screen on his wrist. “Well…that’s odd…”
“What?” Jimi wondered, wishing he could simply fly, but it would give them away.
“We’re heading towards the Desert of Desserts…” the scientist muttered, shaking his head, “Why are they going there? Did Pibb sense something?”

“So why can’t you tell us anymore? Something about a ‘Spooky Door’,” Avenger wondered, as they reached the desert, “That doesn’t tell us much.”
“It is where the Three gained their powers…Teh Master Flan and Teh Mystic Custard may have been the source, but that is not where we originally gained our powers…” Pibb answered.
“Three?” Hammah muttered, counting on his fingers, “What’s the other one?”
“…Pudding…” Pibb answered, “led by…No…I can not tell you now. Some things you must discover for yourselves. You are Custard-Is after all. Now we must press on if we wish to reach it in time to help the Flan-I.”
Avenger scowled lightly and Hammah looked distant, thinking that the Professor and brother were still back at the lab, sleeping.
The three headed towards their destination, the same one the Flan-I known as Tazzy, Phazon, and TS were gathered at, and the ones called Crystal Rose and HA would be heading to.
“I am sorry, Pepper, my old friend…” Pibb said sadly and quietly, so Avenger and Hammah would not hear, “I hope that someday, you might forgive me…”
