Lucky Star is an anime about 4 high school girls. The main character, Konata (blue hair), is atheletic and very good at studying... however, she only enjoys video games and, well, not much else.
She is joined by her three friends include twins Tsukasa (short purple hair) and Kagami (long purple hair) and Miyuki (pink hair).
They have many other friends, but they're not very important.

I find it pretty funny; it kind of has that Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya humor to it (KIND of... Lucky Star focuses on puns and dialogue that's just weird).

Not to mention the opening suqeuence in reminiscent to the Haruhi ending...
See what I mean?

Well, if you like Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star is something to take a look at, though I get the need for action and super powers. XD Aside from the lack of universally accpeted personality traits, these girls are pretty normal.

I haven't seen this before, but I've heard a LOT about it. I might get into it sometime... though I'm already into, like, a billion other things. XD

All I can really say for the moment is... let's rock!!

Heh, the Haruhi connection makes some sense, with Kyoto Animation being behind both series, and the director of the first four episodes of that series was also involved a bit with TMoHS.

But similar to Azumanga Daioh you say???

o.o They're wearing blue... I could have sworn the Azumanga gang wore pink...
Gah! My memory's playing tricks on me again! :cry:

Though, ya... both Azumanga AND TMoHS are wickedly awesome! So if something is like both of those, I'm sure it's worth checking out!

Actually, they wear both. Pink is the cold weather uniform (long sleeves), while blue is the warm weather uniform (short sleeves). I'd quote what the DVD notes thing says (as I believe it says more about it), but I'm to lazy to go looking for the one that talks about that, right now. :p

Waitaminute... you're right! I remember now! Man, it's been a looooong time since I've seen it, but ya! You're totally right.

o_O Btw... I just found out that the characters from Lucky Star are supposed to be in high school... so, ummm... how come they look like they're, ummm... 12? ^_^; And even then I'm being generous... the chick with the blue hair looks like she's 8. ^_^;

XD That's true! I didn't quite believe it when I heard it, either. They look like they're in elementary school. The girl with the blue hair is the shortest... and there's a transfer from America who is also very short...

Hoo-boy! Episode 24 of Lucky Star totally gets mad love for using an Urusei Yatsura song for the credits. Seriously, I didn't see that coming, but it was an awesome surprise.

EDIT: And just because I felt like it, I searched YouTube and now you can compare both versions side-by-side. :)
