What do you all think about a Bleach related RP?? :p

I think this would be interesting, and I know a good number of people here like this series. Also, TNT is winding down to an awesome conclusion, so there will be a good opening for this (NOTE: This will never start until TNT finishes; no exceptions). I could definitely use some help on some initial organization, though, if this is deemed by all as a good idea.

And I really don't know what else to get into to say here...

Well, canon characters would definitely be allowed, as would OCs. And characters who are pretty much clones of characters from series that aren't Bleach are going to be allowed, as well (think kinda like how Ryukku is in TNT). Also, there are going to be some other exceptions allowed of people from non-Bleach series directly being placed in the Bleach universe, but I'll get into that sort of thing much much later, unless related discussions make it needed to be revealed earlier (but I promise it will be very easy to follow that; much easier than probobly this paragraph has been)...

umm, yeah... What do you all think? And do you have questions?

(hopefully you do, because I'm sure there's more I need to say, but right now I can't think of how to throw it into this post)

  I would rather this not be a futures RP like TNT, though, because we've already had TNT for that (and I don't want to think about how a characters'-kids situation would work :LOL: ). But if I'm overruled by everyone, than I could change that part.

I remember what you talked to me about, DP... so, here I come to this thread. As you know... I really don't know a thing about Bleach. Heck... I know even less about it then I do Naruto. XD

• Answer 4: Well, people who are people would work. Robots probobly wouldn't work, unless you made them into people or people-ish. Characters that are part animal would work, but only as shinigami, as then they'd be like 7th Division's captain. Demons or similar can work exactly as almost ports of where they're from (but I'll get into that more in signups, or if you PM me about it)
  
  Powers like DBZ style kamehameha-waves would work both as being just normal humans (it'd work better for humans) or for shinigami as new "Demon Arts"/"Kidou" (but these would be more universal and complicated). More unique specialty powers could also work for humans, and as zanpakuto-release powers for shinigami. Umm, otherwise, I don't know what to tell ya, other than put stuff out there, and I'll tell ya what can be done.
  
  Also also, you won't mess ANYTHING up. I don't want this thing to be all that strict at all.

Also, important terms:

Shinigami: These are "Soul Reapers" in english. Think like the Grim Reaper, only Japanese style. They all dress in black uniforms, and all have swords known as "zanpakuto". They can be good, or bad, or indifferent, but generally good. They usually work as part of Soul Society, however, to go on missions to kill Hollows, or similar. Others can be renegades that aren't part of the 13 Protection Squads of Soul Society, and do whatever the heck they want, I'd guess.

Zanpakuto: Literally "soul cutting sword". They are used to "purify" Hollows, and send spirits to Soul Society (or Hell, if it was a particularly bad soul to start with). Their basic form is just that of an ordinary katana, but in truth, it's also is it's own being that has it's own name. Once the shinigami learns his/her zanpakuto's name, they can initiate an "initial release" or "shikai release" that changes the form of the sword around a bit, and gives the shinigami more abilities unique to each shinigami and zanpakuto. There's also a "final release" or bankai, which comes with a ton of training (like hundreds to thousands of years), or Urahara's cheater method of three days :p . Shout "*Action* *zanpakuto's name*" for shikai release, and "Bankai!" for bankai, but with training, you don't need to say the name of the shikai release to change to shikai form. ((Exa: "Roar Zabimaru!" is what Renji would yell for his shikai release, and "Bankai!" is what he'd yell for his bankai))

Soul Society: Generally, it's the afterlife world for spirits that aren't evil (being evil as Hollows doesn't count for that qualification). in the center is Seiretei, where the 13 Protection Squads are, which is also where the shinigami generally are. Normal non-shinigami spirits just live outside there in Rukongai, which can be a good place, or a bad place, depending on where in it you are.

Hueco Mundo: Hollow's world. Shinigami don't dare go there, generally.

Hollow: Evil spirit (though some are the comical evil that isn't really thought of as that evil, in Hueco Mundo). They eat souls of people, and can be thought of as monsters. The hollows are the major antagonists of Bleach. They are evil ghosts who reside in Hueco Mundo but travel to the living world to feed on the souls of the living and dead alike. Like shinigami, hollows are made of spiritual matter and cannot be detected by ordinary humans. While the majority of hollows can be overcome by the average shinigami, there are some which surpass even the most elite shinigami in strength. All normal hollows wear white masks.

Arrancar: Hollows with their masks (mostly) removed, and shinigami powers. These are quite strong. The strongest can seal their powers in their own zanpakuto, who's release affects the arrancar physically in power, unlike for shinigamis, where releases affects more the sword's abilities and power. FMA's homunculi would probobly make really good arrancar... :p

Quincy: Hollow exterminators. They don't purify the soul of a Hollow to send them to Soul Society. They just kill the soul outright, with spiritual energy manifested in the form of bows-and-arrows. Technically, there are only two left (Ishida and Ishida's father), but more can show up for this RP.

There are also humans with special powers that aren't Quincies, just they really don't have any special names. They're just Orihime and Chad. :p

Vaizard/Visored/Vizard: Fundamental opposite of Arrancar. They're shinigami who've gained Hollow's powers. They aren't accepted by either hollows nor shinigami. They can be good, bad, or indifferent, but are generally not evil.

GS, didn't you already read up to the Byakuga fight against Ichigo? There really isn't much else you'd need to know from after that, other than what you probobly already know from spoilers...

Anyways! For everyone! If you don't know much about the series, or just know a little, or what-have-you, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. Just because this is set after the Soul Society arc does not mean you need to worry all that much about what happened in that arc (only reason I want this after Soul Society arc is to allow the most freedom for everyone, and the best way allow all the cool stuff from later on in if people want to do so). Just pick or make cool characters you want to play as and we'll go from there.

EDIT: Okay! Signups shall start prior to the 10th! So Friday, or Saturday, they shall be. And summarizing what'd happen in signups? I could probobly do that, too.

DP, to really get into this, I'd have to read the manga... but it seems daunting since there are so many chapters!! FMA has 71. Bleach has more than 271. If I dive into something, I... dive into something. <.<; I have a lot of good things to say about Bleach, but... 277 is a BIG number. XD DP, how far into it have you read? Can you help convince me it's worth it? Mayhaps more importantly, is there a site wherein I may partake of this?

BR, my friend, if anything Bleach is more worth it than most things that are worth it.

I have to wake up early tomorrow morning and I risk being very tired all day, and yet, I cannot stop reading it despite the fact I know I'll miss out on sleep.

Bleach is a whirling pool of awesomeness and coolness which is unique and great. I'm only on chapter 122. In Sane We Trust, but I love it and I can say with my full confidence that it is very much worth the time it takes to read it. :3

It takes time to read it all... yes... but it is time well spent! Bleach is Grade A quality fantasticness! You must read it! Believe me! :D

Yah, but also, if I read all of it, I will also see every episode of the anime... except for that Lujon episode! Maybe if I get some closure with FMA, I'll be able to get a fresh start with Bleach.

Also: DP or GS, are there plenty of new characters introduced? Like, good people? One of Bleach's best attributes is character development, but are there well-developed characters I don't know about (I've seen up to but not including the end of the SS arc)? Or does the cast remain relatively stable?

Well, I've read the entirety of the manga from after the Soul Society arc (and watched the entirety of the anime, including the Bounto filler arc)... I'm an anime watcher much more than a manga reader, but Bleach is worth reading/watching, in my opinion.

As for the FMA homunculi, I stand by my saying that they'd make cool arrancar/hollows, but I don't care. Do whatever you want to do! Just no Homunculi as homunculi, or heartless as heartless, or all that... There's enough stuff that's going to be in this where you can fit that sort of stuff into shinigamis, hollows, demons, or humans without much difficulty.

As for sites I think Exile just broke my browser. The other one seems decent, though it doesn't have everything (bleach7's gallery was thousands of times better than either, their gallery seems to have been down for a while now). Other sites, I need to look for them, first. :heh:

Also, if you read the manga, you'll miss everything about Bounts, 'cause they were anime-only filler baddies (however, even for being fillers, most of that arc was pretty good). Or were you talking about FMA? ?????????

The only new peoples are the arrancar, I think? I don't know what you don't know about... (too unspecific) But pretty much, everyone of importance did stuff throughout the SS arc, and at the end, only the people you already know about due to wikipedia-spoilers did their whole turning-evil thing. Oh OH! Yeah, the vaizards are new, too. Also, Toushiro, Rangiku, Ikkaku (baldie), Yumchika (baldie's friend), and Renji showed up with a bit more focus during one of the arrancar attacks. Umm, yeah. Don't have a clue what you're asking about...

No, I was talking about the anime filler. It says they are human-like experiments who stay immortal by using human souls... sounds like homunculi. ^^; Arrancar are simply crazy hollows (XD, I kid) and so don't sound as much like homunculi. However, their ability to transmu- er, transform their own bodies and the whole specific number thing (9 arr., 7 homc., etc.), plus their formerly-human aspect, plus their centrality to the series make them more attractive candidates, though possibly less accurate. I'll report back when I know/understand more, but for now they both have similar qualities. Since there will be no "homunculi", it doesn't really matter, as Sloth could easily be an arrancar while Wrath could be a bount.
Likely outcome: homunculi to whom staying immortal is paramount in FMA would likely be "ported" as bounts, and homunculi to whom their human past and general bad@$$ness (can I say that here?) is most important, would likely be ported as arrancars. Despite my strict organizational tendencies, I see no need to tie them down. ^_^

No, if I get into Bleach, and love it, I'll read everything and watch everything. ^^; And I'll sign up... somewhere...

EDIT: I'm asking if there's going to be anyone cool left. XD Just looking at my track record, I seem to force characters to become evil, often with ridiculous results. (Poor SW2 Alphonse...) Is there anyone like that? Who becomes evil, or at least hovers on the edge?

I'm unspecific because I don't remember what comes last! XD I saw the Byakuga/Ichigo fight, but I didn't see the evil-revelation or the, um, 'shinigami spoiler'. If you know what I'm talking about.

I don't know why I spoilerized that, since I think everyone knows about that since either first turning to Wikipedia, or after Trinity's signups...

But other than that, no one around "seems" to be evil, or on the verge of evil... But no one ever did, actually, except Gin (just look at that face) and possibly Kenpachi (who certainly isn't; and though I say I don't really mind whatever you do with anyone anyone chooses, if Kenpachi turns evil in this RP, I'm quitting). Mayuri could have been seen as being evil, too, but that's more of a mad scientist thing, and he cares too much about his research division in Seiretei to turn against the rest of Seiretei.

Of course, you can always OC it... Vaizard/Visored/Vizard seem like good people to use a Good-Turned-Bad story on, with the inner-hollow and everything.

Rip a character from somewhere else and do it that way Probobly easier that way... Just don't name him Faust if you're going to make him like Dr. Faust. :p

Also also, most really powerful arrancar can't have human backstories, since they're made from Menos, which is like a ton of hollows combined together. Though, you could just say there was one hollow that remained dominant through all that. I don't care! :LOL:

Though, Envy'd make a bada** Espada arrancar. *hint to Cojo :p *

Hmmm... although I know nothing of Bleach and I can safely say that I can't sign-up as any actual Bleach characters, this being able to sign-up as someone else and then MAKE them be a Bleach character... intrigues me. Heh... perhaps one of these days I'll steal borrow that idea for a Digimon RP that I've always wanted to do here at SRB but never did because there's only, like... 4 people here that know even a little about Digimon. :heh:

Still... with GoC and an incoming trip later this month, I can't say I want to create any new RPs for a while. Still, thank you, DP, for providing me with a way of allowing others to join an RP that would otherwise be a little too exclusive.

I joined Bleach Portal and Bleach Exile, and so far Bleach Exile is much better. ^_^ I'm working on it...

Oh... I wish I'd seen that post before I spent all this time making OC's. XD I've edited two pictures and hunted DA for a third. But no biggie, I'm sure the one's I made will eventually be okay...

Hmmm... I'm also beginning to wonder if it would be okay to play a canon character without having much knowledge of Bleach if I were to do some research on that character...

You know, a while ago I joined a Inuyasha RP site... I had read the first couple of manga and seen about a week's worth of episodes (this was back when Inuyasha first started on Adult Swim).

I didn't know much about anyone... so I chose to play Nobunaga. You remember Nobunaga, right? From that one episode... the clumsy samurai? Anyway, I played Nobunaga... he was a character who showed up only once, so he was canonical, but I was able to customize him greatly!

You could take someone who doesn't have a big role and customize them to be how you like them.

Just a suggestion. It's actually pretty fun to do.

And I believe in the Bleach Topic, DP has a bunch of manga download links. I dunno if they're still valid, but there's a bunch of sites you can download from or read online.

You know, if you wanted.

I might check those out sometime. I may have to, cuz I think the canon character I had in mind might be a main character. :heh:
