I want Pokemon Pearl so badly.......So Very Badly.....

Cherimu has to be the cutest next-gen pokemon ever!! That and Manaphy who since seeing screen shots of Pokemon Ranger Prince of the Sea (the only anime movie I havent caught in Japanese yet) has made me love the new designs! I also adore the idea of more pre evolved Pokemon of the origionals making an apperance!!!

And once this comes out it means the Pokemon Pearl anime will be out!!! *squee*

i wonder how the Dual Screen will be used, You tube is down for matinence on my end ^^;

The Dual-Screen has some interesting effects, from what I remember. The menus and stuff are on the bottom, I think, and the battles are at the top. You can use items and all that stuff, but you can still see the battle at the same time. Other than that, I don't know much about the Dual-Screen features of this game.

I have one volume of pokemon manga, where "Red" gets a Bulbasaur, a Pikachu, and a Poliwhirl (the poliwhirl is his main pokemon). The battles end in death, not fainting, and there's the Rocket Triad and the rich Misty like CPoC and Misty said, respectively. What type is that again?
I like that one because it seems so much more real than, say, the show... I liked the show, but to travel with the pokemon out of the pokeballs frequently, and to face real danger in battles... seems more like real life. ^_^
But they never brought back the let-the-pokemon-walk-with-you thing... ;_;

Haven't played it, but it's about time they came up with a new version of Pokemon.

Not just a new country with new Pokemon to catch, but an actual new game concept. There was Pokemon Snap, but that was ages ago.

Upon first sight, I thought they were Ash and Misty, and I was almost right! After some quick searching, it's Red and Misty, from the Pokemon Adventures manga. The second one is the same two, just in monochrome.

That's Misty's hair in the G/S/C saga, when she's older. But, ya, that's Misty and Ash/Red/Satoshi/Why do I have so many names? But, ya, Misty changes her hair when she gets older. In earlier issues, though, she does have the tail.

Oh, cruel fate... life is unfair. I really felt like RPing the day away, today. Seriously, I'm suddenly in a VERY RPing mood... but alas... I must leave for work in a few minutes... *sighs* Oh, well.

I pre-registered for my copy of Diamond and I got this cool Dialga stylus thing. *Looks around* Now where did I put that darn thing...?

Well, I bought Diamond yesterday! Haven't played much, but so far it's been a blast! Also... I think it might use a few 3-D graphics... or at least 3-D effects. Anywho, awesome game! I chose Chimchar as my starter.

As Crystal Rose already pointed out in the anime thread, the girl's name is Dawn. In case anyone's wondering, the boy's name is Lucas.

Although I only just barely started playing this, I'm already in love with it. I recommend this game for everyone! And unlike the other games that have come out recently, no offense to anyone that likes these games, this game is a REAL Pokemon game!

Man... I'm starting to get pumped up about this... hmmm, I'm getting into a Pokemon mood! Perhaps this might mean... if I get over my laziness... more... A&F... :shifty:

Question for those with The Knowledge©:

What are the things that have changed since the Gold/Silver/Crystal days (other than the # of pokemon, obviously)? I've heard all types of unfamiliar stuff people were talking about with the Pokemon game when reading in the thread on OCR (and the OCR thread isn't the place to actually find an answer to this question), so, uhh, what's different/been added??

Well, I'm not certain about what's new in Diamond & Pearl, as I haven't played enough of it yet. But here's what I know that was new in the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald games:

2-on-2 Battles

There are many times where you'll either fight 1 trainer who will bust out 2 Pokemon, or you'll fight 2 trainers at once. Either way, when one of these two things happen, you'll be using 2 Pokemon simultaneously.

Secret Bases

All over the game there are little hidden places where you can set up what is called a Secret Base. Basically, a place where you can store stuff like a couch, a TV, posters, etc. If you battle someone, and mix records with them, then his/her secret base will appear in your game and you'll be able to battle him/her anytime you want by just going to their Secret Base. You will also appear in their game. I think there might have been something similar to this in Gold/Silver/Crystal, but I can't remember since it was such a long time ago.

Contests

Not exactly battling, but a form of competition, nonetheless. You can enter contests and try to impress judges by showing how good your Pokemon is in a certain category. You can collect ribbons when you win. This is just a side-quest, and it's not necessary to do any contests to win the game.

New HMs

I don't know how many of them were new, but I'm fairly certain that Dive as new. Dive allows you to go underwater!

Running Shoes

Somewhere at the start of the game, you're given running shoes. With these, if you hold down B, you're able to run instead of walk. It's a much faster way of traveling, unless you have...

New Bikes

In Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, bikes were split into 2 kinds of bikes. I forget what they're called, but one was meant for speed (and wowzers, does it ever go fast!) while the other is meant for tricky terrains.


Hmmmm..... I'm sure there might be more, but that's all I can think of for the moment. I highly suggest you try one of these before jumping into Diamond or Pearl. If I may be so bold, go for Emerald, as it's the best of the bunch from that series.

I want one so badly now.

I'd like to point out something I've noticed. It's Prof. Rowan, not Rowen. Rowen, as we all know, is someone else. ;)

Anywho, played a little bit more of this game... it's friggen' awesome! And because she got a head start on me, Dawn is my mentor. XD

Anyways, this game is really cool so far, and I've really been enjoying it. If you have a Nintendo DS, you need to get this game. :yes:

In the anime, Rowan sounds like Max Winters/Professor X/Captain Jean Luc Picard/King Richard/whatever the heck else Patrick Stewart played... hmmm, maybe it would have just been easier to say that Rowan sounds like Patrick Stewart. XD

Earlierish in the game, you get this cool watch. The following features are onces I’ve gotten so far, and I’m at the Third Gym right now:

Step Counter (For Eggs maybe?)
Odd thing where you check your Pokemon’s HP bar.
‘Nother thing where you can click them, and see if they like you a lot or not yet.

Latest Pokemon Obtained
And Counter

I’ve seen 67 different Pokemon, and have 27 on my Pokedex…Catching anything I can see that I don’t have.

The bag is split into these parts.

Items, like Repel, Hold Items, selling items.
Medicine. Like Potions, Ethers, Heals.
PokeBalls
Tms & Hms
Berries
Mail
Battle Items. X Speed, X Accuracy, etc.
Key Items. Bike, Fishing Rod, Map, etc.

You get a Bike by helping out the manager and beat Team Galactic in one town, and you can use B while riding it to change it from a slower bike for easy handling, or to a fast bike, like Mach Bike.

The bad guys are Team Galactic, who, as far as I can tell, are trying to create a new world.

The first Gym Leader uses Rock Type Pokemon.
The second uses Grass.
The third uses Fighting, and I don’t know about the others.

And Lucario is NOT a Legendary. At least, the third Gym Leader had one when I battled her…

On my actual game…

Name: AGoI
Rival’s Name: Hammah (He looked Hammahish…)
Team: Monferno, Shellos, Starvia, Onix, Luxio, and Egg.

And as it seems to hint, it looks like you might be able to go to another region later…

Also, Flash is no longer an HM! It’s become a TM, and it looks like there’s 100 of ‘em now.

HMs gained, in order for what I know, is Rock Smash, Cut, Strength, and Fly. Can’t use Strength yet though, or Fly…Still need to beat the Third Gym Leader to use Fly.

Also, you can make Groups! I started a Group called ‘Rapid’ so if you get the chance, join it!

Oh! Other name thing! Not only is Rowan name similar to Rowen, but you learn your character’s mom’s name…which Johanna…

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! XD
