in 2005...

A strange all-powerful entity dubbed "The Beyonder" had gathered beings from all across existence in an attempt to figure out who was more powerful: good or evil. Eventually, this being gave itself a human body and tried to adapt to its surroundings in an attempt to try and understand the beings that so perplexed it. As Amelie, the Beyonder learned what desire was, but went berserk after the death of the man she fell in love with. After a great struggle that tore the fabric of all reality, many beings who represented both sides of good and evil managed to thwart the Beyonder's plans... or so they thought. All of existence was repaired, and all those slain in the Secret Wars were once again alive. Very few individuals remember these events, and even then they passed it off as a strange dream. Amelie lived peacefully when she was reincarnated as an actual human, having only limited superhuman abilities (compared to those of being the Beyonder).

in 2006...

In time, Amelie would come to know of her past life as The Beyonder. This knowledge surfaced when she had found her evil side, Anti-Amelie, which she had expelled from her soul before being reincarnated. Anti-Amelie knew that the power of The Beyonder was still attainable and sought to obtain this power which was locked away in several reaches of the known multiverse. Amelie had recruited many beings whom she remembered to be heroic and trustworthy to help her stop Anti-Amelie. Though Anti-Amelie was not the only one to be faced. Through many powerful battles, as well as Anti-Amelie's gaining of omnipotence, distortions in the time-space continuum had arisen. It is unclear what the true outcome of the second Secret Wars were, though whatever it may have been had caused all of reality to keep changing itself until Amelie and Anti-Amelie had at last returned from a state of suspended animation.

and now, in 2007...

Seemingly, Anti-Amelie had been defeated by becoming one with Amelie's soul. Thus, Amelie once more had the all-mighty and unrivaled power of The Beyonder once more. With her new found might, she instantly fixed reality and thus every universe was separate once more. Amelie, despite having her dark side be a part of her again, does not wish to reign supreme. Once again, the powers of The Beyonder are separated, this time into 6 different gems. However, a powerful alliance of evil had known of this... and in a great struggle to retrieve the power of the "Infinity Gems", the gems were shattered and then scattered throughout the multiverse... many shards finding themselves owners. The shards are drawn to one another, wishing to once again be restored to a whole gem, thus the owners each feel compelled to complete their gems. However, there are also those who wish to seek out all 6 of the gems in completion for themselves... for if all 6 fully pieced gems were to be wielded, the wielder would the most powerful being in all of creation.


Okay, chicks and dudes, here's how it goes. Once again, we have another Secret Wars! Granted, crossover RPs have been becoming a lot more common this year, but nontheless I'm hopeful that we can still keep this as neat little annual series which won't ever get stale. Well... that's what I hope, anyway... heh.

Anywho, you know the drill... okay, well, in case you don't, here's how we're gonna do things.

1) You have a minimum of two characters or a maximum of ten characters.

2) For each good character that you have, you must have an evil character as well. The good character and the evil character don't have to be enemies or even know each other, but this must be done to not tip the scales to either side.

3) Every single one of your characters must be from a different series... if they're on the same side. You can have two characters from the same series if they're on opposing sides.

Now that we have that out of the way, I'll go over what is known as "supportive characters". Supportives are characters from the same series as the character that they, uh... support. For example, if you pick Sonic the Hedgehog as a character, he can have Tails as a supportive. See how that works? Well... now some rules regarding supportives:

1) The supportives MUST be from the same universe as the character they support.

2) Each character can have a maximum of 3 supportives... but that's it.

3) Characters do not need supportives... supportives are entirely optional.

So... what's the deal with these Infinity Gems? Well, the Infinity Gems are powerful artifacts that grant their users special powers. If the user already has the special power that the gem grants, then that power is augmented generously. Since there are only 6 gems, I felt the need to shatter them (ala Inu-Yasha) so that everybody could get the chance to use them. Here's rules regarding the gem shards:

1) Gem shards are optional... but highly recommended! Come on, this is Secret Wars! Why not turn that nerdy, powerless character into a superhero? ;)

2) Hey, sidekicks can have fun, too! Supportives can have gem shards!

3) You are limited to only one gem shard from each of the six gems to split between all of your characters. Each character can only have one gem shard. This means that if you have more than six characters, you'll end up having characters without gem shards.

Okee dokee... now let's get into what each of the Infinity Gems does. I have separated what each gem can do as a whole and as a shard. Obviously, a whole gem can do whatever it can do as a shard, but I didn't wanna be redundant and type everything twice.






Space Gem (The Purple Gem) as a whole - It allows the user to exist in any location (or all); move any object anywhere throughout the universe and warp or rearrange space.

Space Gem (The Purple Gem) as a shard - It simply gives the ability of teleportation. This does not just mean that the user can teleport him/herself to other places, but it also means that the user can teleport others to and from other locations. The effectiveness and range of the teleportation powers depends on how many gem shards are gathered. Can also grant the power of flight.



Mind Gem (The Blue Gem) as a whole - It allows the user to boost mental power and access the thoughts and dreams of other beings. Backed by the Power Gem, it is possible to access all minds in existence simultaneously. Inadvertently causes one's inner demons to surface when gathered.

Mind Gem (The Blue Gem) as a shard - It simply gives the ability of telepathy and telekinesis. In other words, it gives psychic powers. It can also boost the user's intelligence.



Soul Gem (The Green Gem) as a whole - Allows the user to steal, manipulate and alter souls, living or dead.

Soul Gem (The Green Gem) as a shard - Allows the user to heal wounds on either themself or others. If enough shards are pieced together, the user can even leave their own body and travel about as an astral form.



Reality Gem (The Yellow Gem) as a whole - Perhaps the most powerful, and most difficult to use. Allows the user to fulfill wishes - even if in direct contradiction with scientific laws. Can result in disaster if not careful as to the nature of the wish. When pulled from the edge of reality, it causes catastrophic damage that can be barely stopped by the power of at least the Space, Soul, and Power Gems.

Reality Gem (The Yellow Gem) as a shard - Allows the user to create objects out of thin air, even living things. It can even change other people! However, this gem is very unpredictable, even to the user! If one is not careful, the results could turn out rather unpleasant. For alchemists, a shard of the Reality Gem is like a slightly more potent Philospher's Stone.



Time Gem (The Red Gem) as a whole - Allows the user total mastery of time. Past, present and future are all accessible or visible through its power. With advanced training in the use of the gem, time can even be used as a weapon, trapping enemies or entire worlds in unending loops of time. Can cause those nearby to revert to a physically older or younger state.

Time Gem (The Red Gem) as a shard - Allows the user to skip through the time-stream through short distances, thereby making the user faster! The more shards are collected, the faster the user can become.



Power Gem (The Magenta Gem) as a whole - Contains access to all power and energy that ever has or will exist, and backs the other gems and boosts their effects. Allows the user to duplicate almost any physical superhuman ability and become invincible and therefore unbeatable when using raw power alone.

Power Gem (The Magenta Gem) as a shard - Boosts the user's physical strength. If the user is also fluent in ki-attacks, those get boosted as well, but not granted if the user has no experience with manipulating ki. The more shards are collected, the stronger the user becomes.

Alright, now that we have that out of the way, I'd like to state that each character you sign-up as has a grade assigned to them by you. This has more to do with picking your characters than anything else... as often times more than one person wants the same character.

S ) This grade means that you want the character VERY badly and will not give this character up for anything at all! You are allowed to use this grade on one and ONLY ONE of your characters.

A ) This grade means you want the character a lot, but giving him/her up isn't totally out of the question. Only one of your characters may have this grade.

B ) This grade means you want the character, however you don't really care if you have to part with him/her. Three of your characters may have this grade.

E ) This grade means you chose this character, but could just as well just throw him/her away to anybody, really. Assign this grade to as many of your characters as you want.

Okay, now I wanna get into "power levels". I know there's been some paranoia about this, but regardless, I do want to state that powerful characters are welcome, so long as they're used responsibly. ALSO... when I say "powerful" characters, I mean characters like Goku or Sephiroth or Vash the Stampede. That means characters who are on a cosmic scale, but are definitely not on the same level as The Beyonder. Characters like Mr. Mxyzptlk, Q, or The Impossible Man are all out of the question! Use common sense when picking your characters.

Well... now for the most important part of the sign-ups... the actual signing-up!

Name: The name of the character.
Role: Is this character a main character or a supportive? If it's a supportive, make sure to type it as "support to ----", where "----" is the name of the character that this one supports.
Alliance: Good or evil?
Gender: Male or Female? In some cases, maybe none.
Series: Should be self-explanatory, right? Also, the DC and Marvel universes each count as their own series. For example, if you choose a character from Teen Titans, you can't have another one that's from Batman, Superman, etc. Or if you have someone from Spider-Man, you can't have another from Fantastic Four, X-Men, etc. If your character is an OC, this is where you would indicate that.
Gem Shard: Pick a shard from one of the six gems. You can also choose not to have any.
Additional Info: Anything else that you might wanna write. This may include the character's history, abilities, and/or personality.
Appearance: Post a picture of your character... if none is available anywhere, then you can just type up a physical description. However, a picture is worth a thousand words. ;)

Additional Info: Train used to be an assasin for a secret organization known as Chronos. But one day he met a girl, Saya Minatsuki, who completely changed his outlook on life, and everything, for that matter. Her carefree way of living, as a sweeper, was what made Train decide to leave Chronos, and become like a "stray cat". Now he's a sweeper (which in the BC world is much like a bounty hunter, though Sweepers try not to kill their targets as doing so lowers the reward they'd get for capturing the criminal alive), and a partner of Sven and Eve.

He has "XIII" tattooed on his chest, which was his number in Chronos as the 13th Chrono Number (13th of normally 12; his exceptional abilities caused Chronos to make him the 13th Chrono Number), and was nicknamed the "Black Cat" because of how he "brought bad luck" to those he was sent to kill (he never missed a kill until the very end of his time being one of the Chrono Numbers, when he was changing due to how Saya acted; but in the manga, it was also stated he never killed mothers or children, due to his own past).

His gun is his special Chronos weapon, and he still uses it since he's left Chronos. It's named "Hades" and is made out of an almost indestructable metal called "Orichalcum". It's mostly black, and also has "XIII" engraved on the sides of it.

Train normally acts very carefree, but when Creed Diskenth is mentioned, Train usually turns much more serious and more like how he was when a Chrono Number. Why that is, shall be revealed in the future, probobly.

Train kinda reminds me a bit of Vash (though without that psychic stuff, nor with all that fancy feather stuff GS is now using with Vash in this RP).

His background may be a morph between the anime and the manga.

Additional Info: Eve would be Desty Nova's best friend :LOL: . Actually, she's a young girl infused with nanotechnology that allows her to transform her body. Though when she isn't using the nanotechnology to transform herself, she just looks like an ordinary 13 year old girl.

"She was designed as the ultimate soldier, having been injected with nanomachines that allow her to change her body's shape and composition at will. Examples of this are turning her arms into blades, hammers and shields, turning her own skin into steel, sprouting wings, and firing feathers at ranged opponents. Her hair is her best weapon, as she can turn it into fists (or later, into monofilament blades) that attack with blurring speed. She was raised by Torneo Rudman (an influential dealer in the underground weapons market) to be an emotionless killing machine. She's quite observant and smart, especially for how young she is (but being a clone of a scientist with an IQ of 200, as was stated in the manga, I guess that'd make sense).

Brief Bio: A former native alter from the Lost Ground, he was one of the first native alters to be "enhanced" on the mainland. Due to this, his lifespan has been severely shortened. His alter power (psychic driven power that's actually quite similar to FMA alchemy) is known as Radical Good Speed, and this power can be used to transform his vehicle into a super-fast car. The second form of his alter power, Radical Good Speed: Wheels Unlimited, makes Alter-armour around his legs, and allows himself to travel at extremely high speeds. His final form (unnamed, as far as I know) has the alter-armour form over his entire body, allowing for even higher speeds, though it puts an incredible strain on the user.
"Straight Cougar, age 21, is an incredibly laid back member of HOLY, and does not seem to think twice about breaking the rules. His philosophy on life: the faster you do one thing, the more time you have for the next thing. He is usually found carrying around a book he never seems to have time to finish. He also killed his entire clan, save his brother Sasuke, because he always wanted his brother to get raised by Orochimichael the Snake Doctor to become stronger. And to probobly to torture him a bit, too. Currently, he's part of Akatsuki. Some of his hobbies are: tormenting Sasuke, dancing like a madman, collecting biju, killing people,polishing his nails, tormenting Sasuke, tormenting other people, dancing some more, pwning Sasuke when Sasuke tries to kill him, tormenting Sasuke, and... playing DDR.

Also, his english VA is Crispin Freeman, which makes him even cooler.

Supportives: If I knew a darn thing about Naruto, I'd have that fishy swordsman be his supportive. But I don't, so NONE.

Additional Info: Hiei is a fire demon (technically half fire-demon, half ice-demon) born from a member of a group of self-reproductive female ice demons (meaning he wasn't too popular of a baby...), and was thrown out of the ice demons's land as an infant. Raised by a group of theives, he learned survival skills, thievery and such. As he grew more and more powerful, the thieves finally left him, perhaps out of fear, for at the age of five he was an A class demon. He carries his katana (sword) everywhere as means of weaponry. He had a 3rd eye, called the "Jagan Eye," implanted to amplify his power. This eye gives him some mild psychic powers, such as communicating to others through thought (sorry, I can't come up with the word that describes that right now), but seriously cut into his fire powers, but after the implantation, he was taught more sword skills by the demon who performed the operation. Also, Hiei can control flames from the dark world (Darkness Flame) and the mortal world (Mortal Flame), because of his eye. He also can turn green and become covered in jagan eyes, through a transformation. I forget what it does, though, so that might not get in here... ^_^;

Plus, I still have lots of coins to flip and decisions to make on my 3rd and 4th good-guy slots, because I have many to choose from, but only two slots I want to use.

I added it as a clause to DC and Marvel characters due to how often the characters interact with one another... often it can get a little tricky determining what series a DC or Marvel character belong to. Kingpin is a major villain to both Spider-Man and Daredevil, for example... so that's why I did it that way.

Hmmm... I dunno... do the rest of you think that was a bad idea, too? I did have an intention for it, but as I can see from GS's sign-up, I guess it does seem more limiting than it should be... I'm a bit tired myself, so I dunno. I'll let you guys discuss it.

If your character is an OC, its rating should be OC since only you can have it! Unless you give it away?

Unless things have changed (like balancing did...), supportives "count" for nothing except the supportive count. So as far as I know, you only need to find 2 evil characters. And supportives probobly should get ratings.

Well, there's that reason that I have supportives for. However, I really do want people to try and use diverse main characters. One thing I want is balance. I've come to think of SW as the mother of all crossover RPs... and if there's more diversity among the characters that are signed-up, it can feel more crossover-y. So, while I'm abolishing the Marvel and DC thing, the rest still stays. I mean, as it stands, when you factor in supportives it's possible to have 8 characters from the exact same series... I should hope that to be enough... :blink:

As for me answering your question, DP... well, Shadow can be good or evil. Magneto can be good or evil. If a character often switches sides, they can be used either way.

I'm kinda surprised BR didn't take the shinigami associated with that Death Note girl (though I haven't gotten past the 3rd episode yet so I'm only going off of what you told me... I've been kinda busy with other stuff).

Aizen... He'd be scary to actually have to fight against (though I have two characters that can work around that, and possibly 3, with one of my potential 4th Good Slot choices). The one thing that keeps me from wanting to pick him (other than my desire to not pick any Bleach characters) is that the way I'd want to play him would be an impossibility in SW-style RPs.

DC comics/Marvel stuff... I don't know enough about the comics to comment either way. But yay for the Joker!!! He didn't do enough in SW2... (still beat the three posts for Sephiroth, though XD )

Terry Crowley was a character on The Shield who was advertised as part of the main cast and treated like a main cast member for the first episode... and then he was killed off in the end of the pilot episode. XD

If you had a series which was split up by a time-skip... could one person use a pre-time skip character and another person take a post-time skip version of the same character?

Like, for example... could one person use Dick Grayson as Robin while another person could use Dick Grayson as Nightwing? Even though they're the same person, they're different characters.

And actually, this character I mean goes from being a protagonist to an antagonist... so one of us would use him as a hero and someone else would use him as a evil character...

And it's good to hear that I haven't lost an street cred (I love sayin' that XD). I was watcing YGO: The Abridged Series (a guy with a mic recording over the YGO Second Series Episodes-- it's so funneh, and ONE guy does the voice of ALL the characters, and they all sound different!) and the creator of the Abridged Series had a scene where Kaiba remembers the wrong duel between him and Yugi (it was Second Series, but he remembers the First Series) and he says 'Screw the Rules, I have green hair!' (Instead of 'Screw the rules, I have money!') In remembering this, Kaiba then insisted that he should 'Cut down on the drugs'

Naturally, this prompted me to watch the First Series... and it was pretty cool! A lot more ass-kickin and a lot less card games.
