Here you can list as many as you want on who's your favourite romantic couple in the Sonic universe and why they are that important to you that you'll go out of your way to flame an anti-couple grouping of the one you like just to get banned from DA for excessive swearing.

Nah, just kiddin'. Just discuss who's your fave couple, why, how you'd think it could be canon, what canon scenes actually show there could be something and why you think some couplings work better than others. No flaming other coupling fans if you don't like their favourites, please. =3

That said, here's my fave coupling and why.

:Shadow: x :Amy: (Shadamy): My top favourite. Why? Cuz I'm just one for a darkxlight couples. The fact they're both yin and yang just represents how one is full of the darkness and one shines the light on each other. While Shadow's a bit violent, uncaring and all around bad-ass, Amy is just the kind of girl to show him why he shouldn't be such a cold heart all the time. As for Amy, Shadow's just the kind of tough non-hold-back kind of guy that just influences her not to be so jumpy or afraid most of the time. Other reasons? Well aside from the fact Amy's way too obssessive over one guy who always just runs away, they just look so cute together. Hooray~

:Knuckles: x :Rouge: (Knuxouge): Now I'm not really a big fan of either character, but whenever I see them together, I just get the odd feeling of joy and humour. Probably because one's a complete gullible dimwit while the other is pretty evasive and stealthy, like a female version of Solid Snake minus the cardboard box and the bad-ass-ness. They always seem suited for each other as noticed in SA2:B and SH (I know, but bad game or not, the story is canon). That's just how I think anyway.

As for couplings I don't agree with...

:Shadow: x :Rouge: (Shadouge): Honestly and in all fairness to all Shadouge shippers out there, I cannot find it deep within my heart to see these two get hitched. They hang out and do a load of missions together, sure, but that's all I see them as: partners. The idea of this coupling is just... Well, it doesn't stimulate gleefulness in my heart at all. Sorry. =/

:Shadow: x :Knuckles: (Shadux): I swear to god I've actually seen this coupling somewhere on DA and fact is just the sudden thought of it makes me wanna belch. Gods, while I can respect one's shipping fantasy, this just makes me wanna beat them to death with a mallet while screaming "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!"

Couple I'm not so sure about...

:Sonic: x :Amy: (Sonamy): Okay, this coupling is pretty classic and well known among all Sonic fans. While I'm a Shadamy fan, Sonamy just has that little spark I cannot ignore. I've seen quite a bit of art of the two (all kick ass) and I just hear myself squeeing inside. But really, due to Sonic's speedy personality and his lack of sticking around for Amy, that only pressures me down to aww. If there was a bit more between the two, I'd go for a SonicxAmyxShadow triangle. l3

Only Chaos and Tikal. Why? I don't really know. I've seen humanifacations of these guys as a couple, and it just makes me go 'RHUISHDUSHDS:))' and stuff. Plus, CAN YOU SAY TENTACLE RAEP?

With time, you begin to wonder WHY Tikal hangs out at the shrine so much...

Other than that, I don't really like anything else, seeing as how my Sonic-fanness died out not to long ago... >:

Sonic/Amy or Sonic/Sally: I support them both.
Tails/Cosmo or Tails/Cream: Same deal.

I don't ship Shadow with anyone, to be quite honest, 'cause the idea of a 'romantic' Shadow seems comical to me given his always serious mood.

Personally, I try to avoid thinking about mobians + *word that was removed* XD As far as I know we don't really roll with the 'mental images of humanoid hedgehogs having sex' thing around these parts, but based on what was very briefly said I don't think there's too much of a danger of going too far in that matter, so I wouldn't worry about it, DP. ^_^

Back off topic, I personally acknowledge the existence of the Gamesverse, the SonicXverse, the SatAmverse, and the Archieverse; I shockingly haven't met any Sonic Underground fans yet so I don't have much to say about that. But in-RP the RPers usually stick with the Rapidverse, which is vague enough to allow characters from any and all of those 'verses. As for which is the best, or most official...? I don't care. XD In general we rock with the first amendment freedom of religicanon stuff, or whatever, but as long as you don't hate, discussion about which Sonic rules the other, slightly more bespined Sonic is welcome here. :3

I'm kinda a surporter of the Knux / rouge thing going on. It add's a bit of romance into the sonic universe which makes things a bit more interesting.
Sonic / amy is just a good laugh really. Watching amy chase sonic everywhere but never getting what she wants from him I find is kinda funny (expecially the things they both come out with e.g. amy always trying to get sonic the marry her and sonic being like 'Nooo way'.)
Also, tails and cosmo was so sweat ^^ The final episode of sonic x really got to me. I was all like ;_; as I watched what tails had to do. One of the better parts of sonic x.
Having shadow as a lone ranger is what makes him seem cool. Letting him have a crush on someone could be kinda cool but he would always bottle it up inside.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. Especially Shadow being a lone wolf.

Shadow is the one character I just can't see with anybody. At least not now. Perhaps, if as the series continues he comes to terms better with some of his issues, then he'd be at a good spot to get involved in a couple... but for now, Shadow falling in love would contradict his character a lot.

I agree with you about him maybe gettin' into one later on in his life but I definantly don't think that him and rouge or him and amy would be a smart move for sonic team to make (I just won't say anything about sonic and shadow except no. I agree. Shadow shouldn't hook up with Amy or Rouge.

Amy reminds him of Maria, and Maria was something like a sister to him, so I can't imagine him having feelings for Amy. Besides, Amy's love of Sonic has been a key part of her character since she was introduced and to change that... I just don't think it would work.

As for Rouge, aside from the fact I'm diehard Knuckles/Rouge at heart, I can't see Shadow liking Rouge in that way. She's too sneaky and underhanded. Everyone from GUN to Eggman has lied to Shadow and manipulated... someone as tricky and manipulative as Rouge wouldn't work out as love because Shadow has to be getting tired of people lying to him.

I think if they want to have Shadow have some romantic storyline they need to create a character for that purpose. Someone who clashes with his personality enough to keep it interesting but would be able to realistically be a romantic equal to him.

Hmm... I've never really looked at the rouge / shadow thing from that perspective. I just use to think that there personalities didn't match (and, like you, I'm a surporter of Knux / rouge).
The idea of shadow havin' some kind of love interest is kinda cool but you can never tell what sonic team and sega are gonna do next really (sonic RPG anyone? Never saw that coming!) and, as I've learned from past experience, it's hard to contact sonic team :heh: .

That's true too! They're personalities are very different... but I think even more than that is what I said about the lying and such.

It would be cool to see Shadow have a love interest, but only if they did it right. I'd hate to see Shadow wind up in a relationship that makes it seem like he's doing a 180 from how he's acted up to this point.

Ya, sonic team would have to be very careful with Shadow and a relationship. He's a hard character to work with when it comes to relationships and friendship in general for him. They'd probably make her anouther hedgehog to go with the feel more. It's just really difficult for someone like shadow but if sonic team done it correctly then it could be cool. Still, it's hard to tell if sonic team would ever do something like that.

Unfortunately, Sonic Team doesn't have a very good track record.

As it stands, they used to have characters with a lot of potential -- Mighty, Fang, ect... but they got rid of them with no real explanation and instead they introduce a new character with every game, pushing old characters aside.

I'm all for new characters if they do something... if they made a romantic equal for Shadow, and they did it right, that would be pretty cool. Unfortunately they'll probably make someone stupid and then get rid of her with no explanation; as they tend to do. :/

Yer, knowing sonic team. I love sonic team and all but still, they can be idiots sometimes <_< (expecially when it comes to new characters, they go a bit crazy).
Still, if they made a character to be shadows love interest and done it good, it'd make things a bit more interesting for our favorite black hedgehog. I'll tell you one thing, making a female shadow to be shadows love interest is NOT the answer.

It would be better if they used some originality. When they made Rouge and Shadow for SA2, it was one of their best moves EVER. When they made Blaze, it was pretty awesome. When they made 1 Million + other random hedgehogs and such, it sucked.

Hopefully, if they ever do it, it'll be done well.

Well, sega said they are goin' to give sonic a compleate makover so maybe (well, definately) there will be some new characters. Prohaps they'll make a good one in there like with shadow and rouge (I don't know much on Blaze so I don't really have an opinion on her). Lets hope for a love interest for shadow that doesn't suck :LOL: .

One thing people fail to take into context is that a relationship is never engaged all of a sudden in the first chapter, unless it takes place after the two have spent an understandable amount of time with each other.

I may engage in a few reactions a little fast, I might not have, but I wanna do it right for my coupling with Shadow. X3;

Ya, Shadow couldn't just jump into a relationship (he kinda has trust issues). It would have to be something that sonic team gradually built up on.

Well, it depends on the characters.

If you're writing a fanfiction and you have two characters who, by all accounts, are clearly in love with each other but haven't admitted it to each other yet, then it's fine to have it happen in the first chapter -- assuming the story is about what happens to them from that point.

If you have two characters like, say, Sonic and Amy... clearly Amy loves Sonic, but Sonic can't stand Amy. Therefore to have them suddenly in love in the first chapter would be rather stupid... unless the story started at one point and then had flashback chapters, in which case it's another story.

Hum...my favorite Sonic pairings? (*cracks fingers and begins typing*)

:Shadow: x :Amy: = My favorite shipping. I honestly and truely believe that they are compatible with each other. Amy has been shown to have the power to help people see the good in things (examples: Gamma, Silver(I think) and Shadow), so that would be such great help for Shadow. She was able to get through to Shaow with her genuine kindness and caring for people. And with her determined attitude, I could just imagine her stopping at nothing to make Shadow happy. ^^

Plus, Shadow is known to be a gentleman when it comes to ladies, so he'd be very good for Amy aswell. He'd be able to protect her whenever the worst happens, and we'd be able to see the serious side of Amy whenever he's around.

There are so many other reasons why I think this pairing could work, but I really don't want to bore anyone with my rambling.

:Espio: x :Cream: = ..... I just think it looks cute, okay? I could just imagine...Espio being assigned to protect her from an evil, then feelings developing as time goes by(when she's older, of course). Love has no age, right?

:Sonic: x :Amy: = Hum..I really don't support this in the games, but I'm a strong supporter of the pairing in the Sonic X-universe. It's just cute, and it'd probably make Amy happy.

:Knuckles: x :Rouge: = My first Sonic pairing and among my most liked. They fight like a married couple, and have been the first pairing I've seen in the Sonic games to get flustered around each other. Also, they would make an excellent team in combat(since Rouge's specialty is Kick-attacks, and Knuckles fist attacks). <3

:Sonic: x :Sally: = I remember when I first learned about Sonic couplings. When I was into Sonic/Amy, I heard some flames about her and started off not liking the couple very much. However, ever since I grew out of my annoying Sonamy purist habit, I've grew to see in this couple in a new light. I really love Sally now, and I believe that these two would make a excellent team/pair(if only they could get back together in the comics. .-.)/
