Title: How should A&F be updated?
Clown Prince of Crime - August 23, 2007 01:37 AM (GMT)
I want your input, guys! Should I make A&F something I constantly show updates for so that you can see the story little by little (like CR and Tazzy's The Mocha or Bleedman's long defunct PPGD but somewhat alive and kicking Grim Tales) or should I just wait until an issue is finished then show it all like I've been doing all this time?
Seriously, guys, I wanna know what you think, so let me know!
AGodofIrony - August 23, 2007 01:49 AM (GMT)
Hah! Everyone agrees with me, but yet again, I'm the only one to have voted so far!
<.<
Mocha-like.
Clown Prince of Crime - August 23, 2007 02:23 AM (GMT)
Thanks for the input, AGoI! Well, I guess "Mocha-like" is winning so far. Anybody else wanna cast their vote?
Tazzy Porqupine - August 23, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
Well, I like the way you previously had done it, Spoony. I mean, when you update something "Mocha-like", it causes *le gasp* cliffhangers. And we all LOVE cliffhangers. :3
But the main reason I say to do it how you've already done it is because, guaranteed, there will be days when your motivation is very low and you won't feel like doing anything, much less updating a new page. So, if you update it Mocha-like, readers might get upset at lack of update and start throwing virtual flaming pitchforks at you. *TOTALLY not speaking from experience* >>; Another reason for why not to update like us is because what IF your motivation level drops SO LOW (or if you get another idea for a different comic) that you just don't update anymore, and then people will be sad. :c Nothing starts a mob faster than when an author pulls a Bleedman...
I'm not saying you'll do these things, but I'm just stringing up all the worst-case scenarios that pop in my head.
See, if you draw the pages and you don't put them up, people won't know what their missing until you decide to show it to everyone. :D And besides, I know I love the little feature in your previous A&F where you can just click to see the next page instead of having to wait for a new one. :3

Hmmm... while your vote is currently in the minority, Tazzy, I'll admit that you bring up a LOT of good points. Heh, with an argument like that, I might ignore the fact that the votes are 2 to 1 if I don't get anymore votes. XD Seriously, you definitely gave me something to think about!
GoldenSama - August 23, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
Well, I don't want you to update like Bleedman because he never friggin' updates -- but I would like to see it sooner rather than later.
Clown Prince of Crime - August 23, 2007 03:39 AM (GMT)
Hmmm... man, Tazzy made such good points, but the majority so far is leaning towards doing it The Mocha way... gah! I'm so indecisive! I gotta think about this, but despite Tazzy's VERY good points... I may have to give in to the other choice the way the votes are going...
Ya... Bleedman really should learn to be better about the updates... the amount I take for an issue is how long he takes for a single page! XD
On the other hand... his stuff is always artistically amazing, too...
BlueRush - August 23, 2007 03:50 AM (GMT)
Ditto what I said before, do what'll give you the most incentive to update; so ditto what Tazzy said! I vote #2!
Clown Prince of Crime - August 23, 2007 03:59 AM (GMT)
Oh-ho... the tides are turning...
And whatever the outcome of the voting is, I'll end up going with that. It's called Democracy. :p
Crystal Rose - August 23, 2007 05:03 PM (GMT)
I think you should do it al lat once as well. It makes for a good read which isn't cut off right when you are getting into it :3
That and as Tazzy states no virtual flaming pitchforks ^__^;
Cojo - August 23, 2007 05:32 PM (GMT)
Hmm Its tied 3-3 and its a hrd descison, for both sides have their arguments and counter-agruments.
But I think I'll vote more Mocha style, since I enjoy reading A and F so much, and I do like the notion of cliffhangers.
GoldenSama - August 23, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
I agree with the Mocha-style updating, because, mainly, if you wait... you may never do it.
If you continuously post it, you keep getting feedback and that will inspire you to do more. If you wait, you might lose your inspiration. :/
Just my opinion.

That's actually a pretty good point, though. Getting feedback does tend to motivate me. :p
Well, I'll give this a little more time before I decide to go with the winning vote, in case there's anybody else that wants to vote that hasn't yet.
EDIT: Well... I guess if nobody else votes, I'll have to go with Option 1. So, if I see no change in the votes, I'll just start uploading some of what I have so far sometime tonight.
Dark Phazon - August 24, 2007 01:40 AM (GMT)
Mocha style is how I say, because I believe it makes the process not seem as long until new material comes out. That pretty much is just an observer's viewpoint (not artist's), though I definitely agree with the statement about getting feedback as you go could inspire you to draw more sooner.
Clown Prince of Crime - August 24, 2007 02:36 AM (GMT)
Well, by this point, I guess it's safe to assume that the votes will continue to say that the majority wants it Mocha style. I'll try to get some stuff up tonight, though before then I wanna see if I can squeeze in Brock and Misty's Profile Art.
