Title: Homework Help
Description: Do you need help?
AGodofIrony - October 2, 2007 08:10 PM (GMT)
I got an idea for a topic!
A lot of us are going to college now, and that can mean some pretty complicated stuff, and we all have our strengths and weaknesses, and we all know things others don't.
So, why not have a topic you can come to if you need a little help with something? Spoony knows some Japanese, C_R and I know some French, DP's a whiz at Chemistry (Remember that time in Chatty Chat?), GS knows how to write somethin' fierce, HA knows...well, a lot, but of what I'm not sure (Flamethrower building 101?) and more!
So...any questions?
Actually, I do have one myself!
Does anyone here happen to know how to Tango? We were starting it today in Beginner's Dance, and I kept trying to lead, but my partner kept pushing me to go left. Didn't actually say anything to me, but they kept moving their feet that way, so we'd end up doing a circle. A small circle.
And whenever I would try and lead straight, they would put more pressure into going left.
Now, the teacher had already shown us how to do it right, and I was doing it the right way, and I was told I was leading correctly, so, I'm not sure what the problem is!
I am doing it correctly, right?
And, if anyone else has any questions, feel free to ask!

I can help with Literature related things, some Science and some History. =)
Unfortunately, my friend, dance is not one of my strong suits so I can't offer any advice other than look up 'tango' on Wiki.

I don't know anything about dancing, but...
If this is the case...

...then the problem is that the other person doesn't know what they're doing. :p But seriously, I haven't a clue about any of that, so I can't really help there.
But! If people have questions, I could probobly help in answering them (as long as they deal with something I know about! Or at least try to!

I needed help earlier today... apparently Pascal's Triangle is completely done like factorial(i)/((factorial(i-j)*factorial(j)), instead of with the last factorial being (i), i representing the row # and j rep. the col#. Crazy, right?? /* Yes it was. */
Yeah, so I can't help your tango problem, except to say that it's the guy's job to lead the dance, and your partner can't dance if she doesn't know that. ^^;
I can be of help on the following topics:
--English (I speak this.)
--Spanish
--Explicating Lewis Carrol's poem "The Walrus and The Carpenter" (really)
--Chemistry (not really)
--Math
--More math
--I love math
--No, seriously, ask me about math and I'll just laugh at you. Math should die.
--Listing things instead of working
--Also some computer science things, don't know much, it's only my major
--Explicating Lewis Carrol's poem "The Walrus and The Carpenter" (please)

*steps forward dramatically* I shall offer what brain power I can, but it probably won't be much use to college students. :heh: My strength may lie in history (especially the military aspect of that subject) and drama. As for dancing, I don't know that much, so I'm afraid I can't offer much help there.

Well, AGoI, I took ballroom dancing classes in the 5th and 6th grade.8 things ya gotta remember:
1.The guy, ALWAYS leads.
2.It's left foot, right foot, left foot, begin sidestep right, end sidestep left foot, repeat again, end 1st step.
3.Then it's the same, just going in a half circle 1st time,2nd time complete it.
4.Then it's same as 1st one, but add 2 steps and get "your feet stuck in glue" as in rock to the rhythm, then do that again with the other foot, then begin sidestep right, end sidestep left foot.
5.Then, try to keep a serious face on this part, with your right hand, press against the back, and put your hand against the girls and ball it up.then take 5 steps according to the rhythm, then turn, do the same, and repeat.
6.Repeat with another if she says switch.
7.Left foot first:ALWAYS.
8.Keep with the rhythm.
Good luck, and hope it helps!
