Title: Sega Genesis
Description: aka Mega Drive

About a year or two ago, I was able to buy the old Sega Genesis I used to play a lot at my old neighbor's house, and in the process got most of the games he had for it (which meant I got a ton of golf games, and one of the two Sonic games that came with the system when he bought it). And now, I've finally decided to try and get a couple other good games for the system.

Thing is, I don't really know much about other games for the Genesis outside of the Sonic series. So I was wondering, what are some other good games for the Genesis??

VECTORMAN.

Preferably Vectorman 1. This game is freaking awesome, you will not regret this one. :D

Hm... apart from that... I didn't have too many Genesis games...

This is a question that my friend and I have been pondering for the last couple months.

Streets of Rage II is a pretty good side-scrolling fighting game, if you like that sort of that. It can be a lot of fun for a long time, but eventually it will get a bit repetitive. Still, I'd recommend this one.

Batman Returns was one of my favorite games years ago... but I only played the SNES version so I don't know if it's the same on Sega (I know they made one for Sega) and I also don't know if it's your kind of game.

Last Battle is a strange, heavily-edited non-licensed version of Fist of the North Star. It's not something a lot of people would enjoy, but it might be worth a few laughs because of the text. Whoever wrote the translations was smoking something. I only recommend it because you might find it funny and it's usually less than five dollars. And, if you're weird like us, you might actually enjoy playing it too. XD

Golden Axe is a pretty cool game with a stupidly generic storyline; but you get to ride dragons and fight various monsters.

Well, apart from the classic sonic games, 2 games that I used to play all the time with my mates were 'Probotector' (think it was called something else over were you guys are) and 'Double Dragon'.
These two games were my faves. You should check 'em out.
But ya, Batman returns was another classic (there's a pattern with most of my favorites XD).

Yup, I think you should check these out. They're even better when playing with a friend ^^

EDIT: Oh ya! Echo the Dolphin was another great game for the Mega drive / Genesis. Although, to be honest I actually liked it more on the Master System :heh:

Good games for the Genesis: Streets of Rage 1 & 2, Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Vectorman, Ristar, Quackshot: Starring Donald Duck, and Shinobi III. These games are made of total win.

Also, one rare but not very well known game that I like is Trampoline Terror. It's a cool game, in my opinion. It's simple, but fun.

Oh, ya, that reminds me. Who could forget the classic Zero Wing? Too bad it was only released in Japan and Europe. Such a shame.

Ah zero wing. That take's me back.
Shame that it wasn't famous because of it's great gameplay. Instead, people know it for it's cruddy translation
Still, it's a great game.
