A Hedgehog and A Fox written by Harry Brightwell

I do not own Sonic and co. they belong to SEGA who are in no way involved with this fic.
I own Mortomor, Alicia, Zack and the pack of foxes though.

In a forest near a river a red fox with a black mark, much like a scar, was drinking until a sound, a rustle in the bushes. The red fox, Mortormor's ears twitched he growled as a warning his canine teeth glistening in the hot sun. The bushes stopped rustling but left just incase it came back.

Mortormor arrived in a circle of trees the foxes of the forest called the Vitamus Circle as Vitamus was the one who discovered the place where the foxes now lived. A female red fox with a young cub who had an lighter orange-red color to him. "Mortormor!" The vixen howled. "Alicia, and my son! What did you name him?" Mortormor asked the vixen, Alicia. "Miles. Dear." "Miles, come here." Mortormor said in a baby-ish voice. The young cub jumped at Mortormor. "Daddy!" he giggled. Mortormor smiled at his son then looked slightly worried at his son's backside, he had two tails! The other foxes hadn't known as they usually hunt most of the day. And Mortormor hoped by god's will they would never find out.

Months later...as the first day of snow begun...

Miles, now much bigger his two tails fluffy, waged firociusly as the kit played with his hunter in the large tree the foxes called, Maratov, Miles was now a slightly redder color and had a bit of black marking on his muzzle now. "Dad!" Miles said as Mortormor caught his son. Tails who had been giggling the whole time stopped. "Hey, dad? When will I be able to play with the others?" "I-I don't know, son...umm..." Mortormor stuttered trying to think of a convincing lie. "Mortormor?!" "Alicia!" "Why can't our son play with the others, hmm?" "uh..." "Go on, Miles go play with the other little ones." "But, Alicia...oh, alright..." Alicia smiled knowing she'd won. "Yay!" Miles shouted and ran outside. As soon as the others spotted him they gasped. "Holy Vitamus!" One fox said. The kits thought differently. "Wow!" "Cool!" "Oh, you have two tails!" "How'd you get two!" "Woah!" They shouted. But then came Kyron he was a dark red fox with black circles around his eyes and fiery red eyes. "You have two tails? That is a defect! That makes you a freak, child!" Kyron said "B-but I like my tails!" Miles said. "Kyron, don't be horrible!" "Shut it, Mortormor. Miles jumped Kyron scared him, he ran in fear out of the circle, incidently, he ran into a few hunters. "Ah, humans!" Miles said, his father had warned him about these tall creatures Miles ran, what else? He ran back to the circle the foxes gasped as they saw the hunters shadows. They hid and Miles also hid but instead of hiding in a tree, he hid behind behind one. The hunters came. "I'm sure I saw him go this way." "Let's go, he isn't worth it if he is here." The hunters left and everyone came out and glared at Miles. Miles chuckled nervously, "That boy nearly got us caught" One fox said. "He must leave before he causes anymore more trouble." "That's a bit harsh, Kyron." Alicia said. "Silence! I rule this pack. I'll make the orders! Miles, you are...banished from the Vitamus Circle!" Kyron said. Mortormor and Alicia gasped. Miles in fear ran again but ran a different way than before as he would not make that same mistake again.

The next day in a less tree filled part of the forest...

A hole in the ground, some would believe that it belonged to a mole but it was home to an oddly spiked hedgehog, this hedgehog was not all brown, his spikes were blue. The hedgehog slept in his hole.

Miles came up to the hole in the ground and raised an eyebrow, curious as he was, he poked his nose into the hole, luckily instead of touching the hedgehog spikes, he got his belly. The hedgehog woke up and raised up. Miles backed away slightly. As the hedgehog woke properly he saw Miles and recognized his species. "Ah! Fox!" The hedgehog screamed and jumped, stupidly he jumped away from his hole. Miles got closer blocking the hedgehog's home. "Don't eat me!" The hedgehog said curling up into a spiky ball, scared. "I won't hurt ya!" Miles said. The hedgehog loosened himself slightly. "Really?" "Yea! I just wanna friend! That's all." Miles said. The hedgehog uncurled. "Oh, well that's different then! I'm Sonic!" "I'm Miles!"

What do ya think? Oh! by the way! I'm still doing TMC I just can't think of a third chapter. Gah!
