Okay, this was an idea I had during the summer for a fic and/or RP. Of course, I intend to see the RP series I've started through before I start an RP like this, but nonetheless...
Acorn Palace, Mobius
Sally looked out over the courtyard of the rebuilt Acorn Palace, and sighed. The war was taking a heavy toll on her. She leaned on the stone railing of her balcony, reflecting on all that had happened since the fall of Robotnik and the capture of Snivley, and how different her life was. How the derobotization of so many mobians had resulted in a massive increase of scientists, how…as she leaned, in silent reflection, she suddenly heard the door to her room open, and that ever-so-adorable voice she had grown to love :
”Hi, Aunt Sally!” Sally turned around and smiled. “Tails!” she said, and walked over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “How was school?” she asked. “It was okay.” Tails replied, shrugging his shoulders.
“Just okay? Is that it? Are you doing well?” she persisted.
“Yeah, I am. It’s actually pretty easy. Teacher says that I’m gifted.”
Sally smiled.
“I always knew you were.”
Just then, Sally heard the voice of her guard captain.
“My prinzess? My prinzess?”
Sally signed, agitated at the interruption, but turned to face the door to her room, where Antoine was standing, in his guard uniform which he wore with pride since the day Sally named him guard captian.
“What is it, Antoine?”
“My prinzess, ze vour miniztry vants to speak with toui about zome brave new move zey ‘ave divized. Zey think ze humans are weakening!”
“Aunt Sally?” Tails quickly spoke up. “Is it gunna be peace again when we beat the humans?”
Sally stood in thought for a moment, before finally speaking up.
“I don’t know, Tails. Now, why don’t you run off and find Sonic, okay?”
“Okay, Aunt Sally!” with that, Tails was off.
Slowly, Sally turned to face Antoine.
“Very well, captain,” she said with a slight smile that made Antoine begin to perspire, “lead the way.”
Guardian Station, United Terran Republic military headquarters
High orbit above Earth
A woman in her late 40’s, clad in a blue uniform with many badges and ribbons on it, sat down in her war room. It was filled with data displays, maps of the known galaxy, and other various military-related items, and in the center of it stood the holographic projection of a well-dressed man in his 60’s, with gray hair and a weathered, but determined look in his eyes.
“Mister President.” the woman said, and saluted.
“Good day, general.” came the reply. “I want a full report. How is our plan working on the Black Arms front?”
“Just as you ordered, sir. General Braxton disapproves of it, but, of course, is following orders. However, I’m afraid I must also voice my own disapproval of this plan. Our forces are defeating the Black Arms almost wherever and whenever we are ordered to actually engage them! We don’t need to give them false gains just to lure them into our territory! Is it really nessessary to lure them all the way here, where they have a shot at attacking Earth?”
“General, you know I have considered the risks of this plan. You also know that Earth’s planetary defenses are better than ever, and that, if this plan succeeds, the Black Arms will be too stretched out to mount any significant attack on Earth anyway. We can discuss this more later. What about the Mobian front?”
“The Mobians are becoming more aggressive due to the “successes” of their Black Arms bosses. They’ve increased the frequency with which their robotic armies hit our frontline, but it’s their commandos we need to worry about. The Wolf Pack recently assassinated one of our commanders there, and we need a replacement for him fast.”
“Who’s the nearest qualified candidate?”
“It’s one of our “youth commanders”. He’s never seen frontline combat before, but he’s the closest commander we have to the open system.”
“Send him, general.”
“Yes sir, Mr. President.”
“What about project Sunlight?”
“Well sir, it’s…”
Uncharted planet
“Black Doom”. It was the mind of the Black Arms. Its cruel will, its desire for galactic domination, drove its entire race, the Black Arms, across many planets in the galaxy. They had spread for so long, but their first encounter with the species know as “humanity”, 78 years ago, had proven that they could be defeated. Which is where the mobians came in. Their weak civilization had proven to be a rather useful pawn to Black Doom. Also, humanity seemed to be weakening, it thought. Numerous planets along the human-black arms frontline had recently been taken by the black arms. They were advancing, Black Doom told itself. And if humanity was defeated…the mobians would not be able to offer Doom any meaningful resistance. It refocused its mind on the war, and continued to formulate its schemes…
Comments? And yes, this is supposed to be a "teaser trailer" of sorts.
Certainly a very interesting idea there Vidit!
I'd like to see more of the history of this dimension explained perhaps, but I would definately join this RP.
Project Sunlight...Some sort of anti-thesis to Shadow?
Well, for starters, this is obviously a sort of "space opera" if you will, and Mobius and Earth are two different planets (of course). As for the history, well, I don't think I'll reveal too much of that yet, but I can at least provide more story! :D
Mobius, Acorn Palace Gardens
"SONIC! Hey Sonic, wait up!"
Tails flew off, as fast as he could, toward the blue speedster.
"Hey there, big guy!" Sonic called out. "What's up?"
"School's out, and Aunt Sally said that I should go and find you. Wanna race?"
"Sure thing, big guy. But oneeeeeee question. How's Sally doin'?"
"Okay, I guess. She seems kind of depressed since the war started. But you can cheer her up, right?"
Sonic, in a rare moment, actually looked depressed for a moment.
-Flashback-
"Sal, what did the humans ever do to us? Huh? Answer me! Nothin'!"
"Sonic, be realistic! You saw how massive the asteroid fleet that Black Doom had at his command was! Can we really hope to stand against it? We barely have enough of our kind to populate ONE planet, yet here we are, colonizing many planets just to claim our place in the galaxy! If the Black Arms were to turn on us...we couldn't oppose them. They'd...they'd wipe us out. And we did NOT fight for years against Robotnik just to have our entire species wiped out now! Besides...you saw the first human ambassadors. They looked as though they could be part of the same species as Robotnik."
"Except that they have FOUR fingers and a thumb on each hand, not THREE like old 'buttnik."
"Still, Sonic, there must be a connection. I just...don't trust them."
"And you trust that weird creature with the three red eyes?"
"Well...no, but the fact is, they seem to be the stronger race. By working together with them, we may be able to ensure our place in the galaxy...Sonic, try to understand, I'm doing what I think is right for our species!"
"Right for our species! By dragging us into a war against another species that came to us in peace? What would your dad say?"
Sally paused. Sonic had just hit her where it hurt.
"My father would...he would..."
"He'd be ashamed of this mondo uncool war you dragged us into, that's what! If you're gonna have it fought, you can count me OUT!"
-End of flashback-
Sonic looked at Tails, and replied, somewhat hesitantly,
"I dunno, big guy. She and I don't exactly agree on the war. But don't worry about that! C'mon, I'll race ya to the chili dog stand!"
"You're on!"
With that, Sonic and Tails sped off.
An abandoned research station
Through the dark halls, scarcely lit except for a flickering light here or there, the station was obviously in a shambles. Destroyed equipment laid about in many places, occasionally letting sparks fly out. On one of the walls, if one were to face it and decipher the words written on it in the flickering light, they might make out just what the station was:
TERRAN MILITARY RESEARCH STATION
ARK
There was even more written, but if one were to stand in it, and wander its halls, they would, sooner or later, here a sound that would seem very out of place.
The sound, in the darkness and ruins, of a little girl's giggling...
So there's a bit more. (Post in TSC!) :D
Hello! I would really love to b able to write like you. I don't have much of a talent. Anyway, hope your story keeps getting longer!
:Knuckles: POOF! :Big: What the.......how the crap did that happen?
Why, thank you, Knucxsonia. Well, I'd say, pay attention to detail as you write, watch, read, and play a lot of epic and/or dramatic stuff, and check out the writings of the other authors here, as their talent (or at least, their passion for writing) may well exceed my own.
