Title: What are you listening to?
Description: Music

I hope this is the right forum. I've seen this idea on some other forums, and I thought it would be pretty neat. So... Just post the artist, song, and even the album if you wish. You could even rate the song.

"Pretty Handsome Awkward" by The Used

5/5

Santa Monica by Theory of a Deadman from the album 'Gasoline'.
Love the song. Heard it on Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy and fell in love with it. T'was also the first song I learned on guitar ^_^

Is this kind of topic allowed, really?

Anyways...

"Roll Call" by Martin O'Donnell.

Elemental Awakening - January 28, 2008 09:26 PM (GMT)
Why wouldn't it be allowed?

"Injection" by Rise Against

5/5 Freakin' sweet.

If anything, it'd be against how posts should be contributing to a conversation, as this sort of thread doesn't really encourage people having conversations (except on the topic of if it'd be against the rules or not :p ) and insead focuses on the unimportant-yet-popular-with-some-people "Post Count + 1". But who knows; I know I don't, 'cause I don't really care about these types of threads in the first place, so I haven't paid any attention to if there's a precedent for this or not.

"Daylight Fading" by the Counting Crows.

This song is little known of Duritz's, but it's a really, really good song. It's one of his faster ones, which is to say that it's probably more mainstream, and it's also really well written. Like most of his songs, it'd be tough to explicate, but it rocks anyway.

Ahem, da rules:

QUOTE
B ) Contribute to the conversation. In discussions, RPs, and anything else that involves communication, make everything that you say something that can be responded to. Quantity is not necessarily Quality, but neither is a short, worthless post. A worthless post is worthless regardless of how long it is.

QUOTE
G ) Post count doesn't matter. Kindness, intelligence, passion, and loyalty to the Board do.

I wouldn't be able to discern precisely what the original author intended here, but I can guess that he (or she) would probably say that as long as each individual who posts here posts with the knowledge that post count doesn't matter, and as long as conversation is encouraged, it's OK.

Conversation being encouraged means some semblance of an attempt to conserve by others, so that a new conservative won't be intimidated. Haha, what a crazy, flexible word family. Anyway.
Conversation being encouraged means some semblance of an attempt to talk by others, so that a new poster to the thread won't be intimidated. In other words, if everyone posts only song-artist, someone with a comment won't post it. So if everyone posts some short comment, eventually a conversation will get started? Maybe? Or not?

Anyway, this thread's original format cool with me unless CPoC or Sama disagree. I won't tell the rule-writer if you won't. ;D But posting stuff is good for your... hands. Sure.
