My friends, I know my absence these past couple months has been rather noticeable and I apologize for not being on as much as I used to be. I'm doing my best to get back into the swing of things, so I've decided to start a new RP. First let me say that I shall not abandon the old ones (in fact, I just posted in them, so you should go reply, k?) I just wanted to start a new one because... well, Brawl has inspired me. =3 Well... Brawl, and maybe something else. :shifty:

So welcome to...



The basic premise is this: Several of the greatest heroes that there ever were found themselves smack-dab in the middle of a mysterious utopia. Here they found that they could live in peace and harmony, without worrying about sickness, conflict or aging. Why? Because anytime one of the inhabitants 'dies', they are suddenly turned into a trophy and can easily be revived by the touch of a friend. For a year, these heroes lived... some loving the carefree life, others growing restless and still others suspicious.

Then, all at once, a horrible thing happened. A gigantic floating fortress appeared in the skies and suddenly villains began to appear, brandishing weapons that could instantly turn anyone struck by them into trophies! The villains seem to be trying to compete to see who can collect the most trophies, but some appear to be working for the same mysterious master – a cryptic enemy who has bigger plans for all, good and evil alike!

Now the heroes all have choices to make and adventures to have. Some will team up, others will try to make it solo. One thing, however, is certain. To survive, they must fight with the villains and be victorious over the mysterious force pulling the stings!

This RP is kind of different from previous RP's like this. How so? Let me explain...

Characters who would normally be ill-suited for a RP like this because they just aren't strong enough to survive practical combat are now perfected fitted for this! Why? Because you can turn things those characters do into attacks, and, just like in Brawl, there's always random weapons appearing that can be used by anyone. Beam Swords, Home Run Bats, Bombs, Fire Flowers...

Thanks to this, characters who normally couldn't survive a RP like this, can be used without worry! Fer example: Someone like Phoenix Wright would've been fodder in past Crossover RP's, because he can't fight. But in this, Phoenix could have lots of moves! Like yelling “Objection” and it sends this out as a projectile! Or perhaps hitting people with his briefcase.

Because the playing field is now even, instead of dying when a character is shot in the head, it just damages them. The actual extent of injuries depends on who is playing them. For this reason, attacks like “Briefcase!” can compete with things like “Rocket Launcher!” ... though one is still better than the other. When a character is too beat up, they turn trophy, but can be revived later.

There's no 'death'. When a character is killed, they're turned into a trophy. If you kill off a character because you don't want them anymore, then someone else could revive that trophy and then use that character. This way, we can now swap out characters if we get sick of them, and if someone else is interested, they can use that character rather than see them head to the graveyard. And even if no one is interested, that character's trophy can still fit into the story!

Also, because of these previously listed reasons, some character who would normally be “too powerful” for RP's, would be okay! Like giant robots or big monsters and things like that. Savvy?

Also, also, since it's like Brawl, different versions of characters can count as different characters. It's a case by case basis, so some would still not be allowed if someone picked a different version first.

BUT, in some cases, it would be okay. FER EXAMPLE.

Let's say Person 1 picked Link. Person 2 could still used Toon Link! However, if person 3 picked Boy-Ranma. Then person 4 can't be Girl-Ranma as they're still the same person. Also, characters from different times are okay, too. Like, Person 5 can be Lawyer-Phoenix, Person 6 can still pick Apollo. However, Hobo-Phoenix and Lawyer-Phoenix can't co-exist. Savvy? For these same reasons, 'Sashi, Sayuri and Hikaru can be chosen even if the canonical versions of Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke are also used. EVERYTHING GOES! ... Sorta.

As for the beginning of the RP... it will start in the 'utopia' world, precisely one year after the heroes have all arrived. Just so that things are already set up! The heroes can all do their own things, and you're also welcome to have a villain who is doing their own thing. But if you'd like, your villain can be a part of the Subspace Army, working for the 'mysterious enemy'.

For your character, you will have to decide if they have been in Utopia for a year already, or if they are newcomers since the villain invasion. Characters from [SK&WS] and Cowboy Bebop must be newcomers, and the reasons why will be apparent when the intro fic is posted.

N.E. Hews...

Sign ups! These work sorta different than normal. It's still the same concept we're all used too... Heroes, Villains and Supportive... which, for this RP, will be renamed “Assist Trophys”. However, there's a new twist! Fer one, all characters are limited to just one supportive a piece. BUT: supportives do not have to be from the same series as the person they support.

Why? 'cause in Brawl there's teams like Samus & Pikachu and Pokemon Trainer & Lucas. SO, in this Brawl-inspired edition of this RP, supportives can come from any series!

Also! If you're using someone who normally has nameless drones beneath them, you can use those nameless drones and they don't count towards character limits! Good examples are Foot Ninja and Sound Ninja. Also, also, all villains who are aligned with the Subspace Army can use Primids!

As fer numbers... you can have up to five (5) heroes, four (4) villains. You can also have a fifth villain.

[So really it's 5/5, I just felt like wording it weirdly. :p]

You may also use your SK&WS character, and they do not count towards the character limit.

I think I need to clarify a few things.

Firstly, Rex, I know I explained what Time means, so please re-read the intro before signing up because I think you're a little confused.

Secondly, Assist Trophy's act exactly as Supportive Characters did in Secret Wars -- that is to say, they are always there, and not just summoned for a short amount of time. I just renamed them "Assist Trophy" because of the Brawl plot. ^^; Sorry for the confusion. I should have made that clearer.

DP, if you wanted Nick or Maya, I'd be happy to let you have one or both of them. I have lots of other characters I considered playing who I couldn't chose, so if you'd like them, by all means you can have them and it'll allow me the chance to play somebody else. ^^

Hey Sama, quick question. I dunno if you are familuar with Ben 10 but if I decided to play as Ben could I still have access to the omnitrix (his watch) and all 10 aliens?

Oh and i no one else is planning on playing her as a villian may I use Blackfire from Teen Titans? (I've been watching it XD)

Yep! Ben can have all ten of his aliens, a Pokemon Trainer could still have up to Six Pokemon, and other forms of characters who have multiple forms or things of that nature are okay! ^_^

And sure you can use Blackfire.

Also: I have not forgotten about this! I was slightly busy, applying for jobs and spending some time with a friend who I won't see much of for a couple weeks after today, but as soon as I get a few free minutes, I'll write the intro to this and post it so things can be begun!

There's... still one last secret I have yet to reveal. :shifty: That, however, is something best saved for later. It is no way affects the storyline of the RP or characters chosen or anything of that nature, so no worries. ^^

I am wondering, are robots like all the different ROB-guys in Brawl's SSE going to be available for evil-use w/o signing up as them?

Yep! The Random ROB's will be fully useable by any baddie. ^^

And as soon as I edit my sign up's (again), and get off my lazy butt, I'll be ready to start this!

Another sig prototype (using a bunch of filler pics, in case anyone was wondering why there are characters I haven't signed up for and characters on sides they wouldn't make sense to be on):



Green for good, purple for bad (using the colors of the SSE logo for the color scheme instead of the traditional red and blue).

And because AGoI asked for advice for these types of sigs: Just experiment a bunch in photoshop/what-have-you until you get something you like the look of. Don't let yourself be restricted by anything other than how you'd need to be able to have a max of 10 pics on there, and that it can't be insanely large. And don't resize pics in MSPaint, or with any option of resizing in photoshop/similar that says something like "nearest neighbor" (bicubic is what works for me in Fireworks).

Very nice, DP! I like it a lot. It's much less cluttered than the design I did. Excellent work! ^^ Using purple and green is genius! I think we'll go with it, if that's okay with you. I'll have to re-do mine, but I like seeing a design that looks more professional and less cluttered than what I had envisioned. Thank you!

Ok, this is probably the lamest question ever, but I have to ask it.

Do ATs have to be found and activated? Or can they move on their own from the get go? I want to have Videl as Gohan's AT, obviously, but I need to know if she's allowed to walk freely with Gohan, or if she has to be activated each time he wants to interact with her.

You make me curious as to what your design idea was.

Also, the blonde guy in that sig is Dio Brando, and is also the only bad guy I've signed up for, so far.

Actually that's not a lame question at all! There's already been some confusion about AT's. For the record, AT's are EXACTLY like Supportive's were in Secret Wars -- they're with you from the beginning (or whenever you feel like introducing them) and do not have to be activated, and do not disappear unless you kill them off.

And just like Main Characters, AT's don't really "die", they become trophy's. ^^

That was my design, but it's bulkier and more cluttered. Though, 'twas the only way I could also make room for the SK&WS character. The added logos, though, were the extra burden for doing that. <_<


Dio sounds both weird and awesome. Should be fun to see him in this!

Spelling mistakes? I'm guilty of a ton of those. If I didn't have spellcheck I'd look really dumb. So no worries about that; it is understood!

Avenger! Supportives are just called Support Trophies since this is inspired by Brawl. They work like supportives like those in SWIII.

At least that's my understanding...

If the SK&WS character is desired to be put on the sig, there are a couple of options:





^for people with full 5x5 sigs. If you don't have a full 5x5, then the SK&WS character could go in one of the standard spots. And if you don't need/want the SK&WS character in the sig (as for the most part, if you are using a SK&WS character, it'd be the one associated with yourself, anyway :p ), you could go with the standard design.

Also, fonts are subject to change. Also also, I may add a part for above and below that'll roll-call left-to-right, top-to-bottom the good and the evil characters

Before we begin, I'd like to know: how do SK&WS charas get to the scene? Was there a special way you had in mind, GS?

I believe the introduction was incomplete, as it didn't contain any information about how/why the "newbies" will show up in this world, nor why the SK&WS and Cowboy Bebop crowds must be "newbies" and are in this world.


Through my scientific analysis, I believe GS rushed to start the RP before the intro fic was completed...
