Sometimes, you work through a game, getting attached to the characters, getting involved with the story, etc., etc., and you really like the final level and the ending, it really impresses you or "blows you away", so to speak. This topic is to commerate those moments of gaming and share them with each other, so I'll start us off:
(Obviously, this topic will contain spoilers.)

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

You're in the middle of the galaxy, the music is epic, and the Republic fleet has shown up to destroy the source of the Sith army's might. An epic space battle starts, and you board the Sith base in hopes of confronting their leader for your standard "final showdown", and the fate of the galaxy seems to hang in the balance. The final presantation, the music, the atmosphere, and how it all came together, I really liked it.

2. Crysis

You've fought your way off a Pacific island that is rapidly being overrun by newly-awakened alien life forms, onto an aircraft carrier. You hear, as you walk through its halls, that a nuclear strike is being called in, as alarms blare and an admiral on board addresses his men. The strike only seems to provoke/help the aliens, and they begin swarming the fleet. From the flight deck to the nuclear reactor core aboard the carrier, you fight to defend it from alien attack, climaxing with a pair of epic and intense showdowns on the flight deck with a pair of HUGE alien war machines as the waves crash around the ship, the moonlight shines down, fires burn and rain pours down. The music, the atmosphere, and the intense action all combine to make Crysis's finale an epic one.

THE ENDING OF SONIC ADVENTURE 2!!!

Sonic and Shadow are fighting the "Final Hazard", the prototype of the Ultimate Life form. The Space Coloy ARK is plumiting towards Earth. The two hedgehogs are planning on Chaos Controling the space coloy away. Epic Music, everyone and their mom cheering for them. Sonic is able to get into the warp as Shadow and Sonic preform it, but Shadow isn't as lucky. Shadow (presumably) falls to Earth and (presumably) dies. Sonic, Rouge, Tails, Eggman, Knuckles, and Amy are in the space colony talking about Shadow and how he meant good blah b;ah b;ah while everyone on Earth was happy/cheering.
The final scene shows everyone walking out, Sonic is last. He turns half-way around and salutes his (presumably) fallen comrade.
"Sayonara..Shadow the Hedgehog."

Kingdom hearts 1 and 2

Both very epic times when sora lost kiry but made a promise to come back and find her and in the second game you finally found kiry and the music plays and you jump up and down of how you beat the impossible bosses.

The defense wishes to strike this remark from the witness' testimony, on the grounds that new evidence has proven the above to be wrong.

That ending would've been one of mine, until Sonic Heroes came out and pretty much ruined all meaning to it. Proof that Sega should NOT listen to little fanboys and fangirls. (Shadow was brought back because of an internet poll, as I'm sure you're well aware.)

As for mine...

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. (Great game all the way through, and the ending was very nicely done.)

Final Fantasy X. (The first game to ever make me tear up. Very touching, and surprising.)

Sonic the Hedgehog 2. (Obvious reasons.)

Kingdom Hearts 2. (Very, very sweet.)

yes. i am aware that shadow did not die. (i haven't finnished sonic heros yet) but still looking for the game on GC so i can finally end the damn thing.

Dude. Even I haven't truly finished Heroes, due to the lame emerald stages.

The way I see it, just Shark it, and move on like that.

The Super Mario Galaxy finale was AWESOME! It has that generic the fate of the universe hangs in the balance theme... but the way Nintendo did it it actually feels like the fate of the universe really does hang in the balance. Epic. Just epic.

oh.... and i here i was looking for a challenge... =__=;
eh, sega was never really skilled at making things challenging anyway.

It's challenging enough for me just to think of wanting to play Heroes enough to get to a point somewhat close to the ending (that game just took all the fun of playing 3D Sonic games out of me; of course the version I have is the PS2 version, which is supposed to be a lot worse than the other system's versions, but even so). :heh:

Here's another one: Bioshock

It's good ending, at least. I'll avoid the exact details to keep spoilers to a minimum, but the entire game was filled with dark and twisted characters, events, and themes, but if you got the good ending, the game ended on a nice and heartwarming note that contrasted starkly with the rest of the game (in a good way).

i liked the game cube's version. unfortunatly for me, stupid blockbuster dosen't rent it anymore. i was so pissed when i went to rent sonic heros and they no longer carried it... and i still am! >.< now i want to play sonic heros more than ever. i was sooooooo close to having my mom buy it for me! 'twas within my grasp but mother had to metphorically rip it away. TT__TT

A. When one of Eggman's robots rejects his programming (this is like forcing yourself to be able to think in a language you've never heard) and then decides to go on to kick all his improvements' asses, royally.
B. When Amy decides to stop taking shit from some robot.

2. Sonic Adventure 2. K&R on the ledge on the meteor level. *cough* So sue me, I'm a romantic.

3. Devil May Cry series -- any time Dante does anything, ever.

4. Portal. The ending. Enough said.

5. Super Metroid when you have to escape Zebes.

Not all of those are endings, some are just moments.
