In the middle of the night in the Knothole Kingdom most everyone is asleep.
"Yeah, goodnight sis."Manny said when suddenly before he could even sit down on his bed Emonic poured out of its darkest shadow and stood on his bed.

"Dude what the crap!?!"He yelled.
"Sorry, but I've got a signal. We have to go after this emerald."He said passing Manny.
"Come on Lilly. You said you would help me out. Lets go."He begged her over her bed.
"Yep. Lets go then!"Lilly said jumping up and running to the bathroom to change.

"You know I'm coming too right."Manny said pulling on his suit.
"Yes."Emonic replied.

After dressing they all took off through the night slipping pass the guards until they were outside the kingdom.

(Try not to use profanity...)

Station Square

Sam walked along the sidewalk, when he saw something glowing in a alley. He followed to find a Chaos Emerald. He just smirked, placed it in his bag, and just kept walking along the sidewalk.

(Hey, Emonic, can you at least tell us a little backdrop? And, Haleberd, I don't mean to be rude, but it's probably way harder than that to find an emerald. But oh well)

Station Square

As Sammy grabbed the emerald, an anthro weasel, a polar bear, and a duck walked out of the shadows.

"Whatcha got there?" Fang asked, barring his many fangs.

"Yo boss, I think he's got a ruby." Bark replied.

"Either way, give it here punk, or you'll be knocked into submission!" Bean said. Suddenly, a police siren went off.

"Grr...come on guys, let's get out of here." Fang leapt onto a ladder, and climbed to the top of the building. He was then followed with Bark and Bean.

(Some people have to obtain a emerald SOMEHOW, at least to advance the story, one way or another. I'm just doing this to kick things off.)

Station Square

"....Chaos Control." Sam teleported to atop a building, where the trio were. "....And you'll knock me into submission, huh?" Sam said, a grin appearing on his face.

Station Square

"Clever kid, but you just brought yourself to us. Take him out Bark!" Fang said, though his grin hadn't faded.

"With pleasure!" Bark cried, and launched several punches at Sammy.

Meanwhile, Bean was handling a grenade, waiting for his chance to strike.

Station Square-Rooftops

"....Kuchiyose:Chiharu." He took out his energy blade, and thrusted it into the rooftop. "Chiharu Wave." Sparks traveled across the ground, damaging all in it's path. He leaped into the air, and put a hand back. "Chaos Spear!" Sam launched multiple bolts at the enemies.

Station Square

Bark pulled out a customized sheild, curtesy of Bean, and blocked the hits. The shield was built to negate all chaos energies to strengthen the holder. Bean made it when they attempted a hit on Shadow. Bean then through his grenade at Sammy.

Station Square: Rooftops

Sam caught the grenade, and threw it back to the trio. "It if negates Chaos energy....a fist fight. Kuchiyose:Chiharu." He rushed up to Bean, and slashed vertically, and followed up with a Chaos Spear. "That should take care of you for now. Anyone else?" Sam said, taking out the emerald.

Station Square

There was a gun shot, and the emerald flew out of Sam's hand. Fang stood with his gun, now smoke coming out of the barrel. Bean slowly stood up.

"Ready for the pain punk?" Fang said.

Sudenly Bark ran to the left of Sam and slashed at him.

Bean grumbled and pulled out several land mines. He threw them all near the fell chaos emerald. "Try and get them without blowin' up." Bean said now chuckling.

As the three ran out through the night they came upon a city where they saw flashing in the sky. It came from the top of some buildings.

"Its one of them. I can feel it!" Emonic said.

"Then take us up there. I'll get it."Manny grinned.

"No. We don't know what were facing. Take us up this building." Lilly said pointing to a building a few blocks down.

Emonic pulled the two in close to him then ran straight into the wall then through. They had gone through there shadows. They popped back out at the top of a building 3 rows down. From there Lilly could scout of exactly who was fighting.

-Station Square-

There was a flash of blue.

"Oh, you mean this Chaos Emerald?"

Sonic the Hedgehog stood on a roof overlooking the fighters, holding the Chaos Emerald up with a chuckle, "Don't worry dude, I'll give this back to you."

He gave this last comment to Sam.

In a flash of brilliant white light, a streak of energy shot forward, just barely missing Bark.

A short white skinned robot that looked like a human stood there, holding up a gun, the Spur, which was whining softly, indicating it was charging back up.

"You shouldn't just attack people..." he said simply, "Leave, please..."

"Yo Quote!" Sonic grinned, looking towards the robot, "Mario still catching up then, I take it?"

Station Square-Rooftops

"Thanks." Sam said, looking at Sonic, then his look returning to the trio. "Now, we're fair. Bring it on!" He took out Chiharu, threw it at Bark, at as it hit Bark, he kicked him into Bean.

"A few critters and a human." Lilly said from the sky.

"Lets take 'em then!" Manny said to Lilly as she landed.

"They have some pretty high tech weapons. But it could happen."Lilly said touching ground.

Emonic ran up from behind and grabbed his two friends.
"Hold on tight, were going to jump"He yelled pushing them through their shadows on the ground again. It was like a free fall. Then they popped up right next to the building with the fight.

"Okay, lets go sis."Manny said taking her hands.

Without even stopping their movement after the shadow jump Lilly takes flight carrying Manny by his hands. They land on the edge of the building Lilly placing Manny a bit closier in.

Meanwhile Emonic disappears through his own shadow again.

(Sorry, Haleberd, but Bark is huge. You can't kick him that hard as to sending him falling)

Station Square

Bark dodged the sword, and grabbed Sam. He then hucked him to the other side of the roof.

Fang didn't look the least bit scared. He looked at Sonic, and said "Well, well, well, if it isn't Sonic." He spat at the building. He then snapped his fingers, and Bean nodded, as if understanding what Fang wanted. "Loks like we're out-numbered. But, we'll escape."

Suddenly Bean pulled out a molotov cocktail and tossed it, starting a fire. Fang then jumped below, the others joing him. There were three aerobikes, which were used to help Fang and his gang escape.

"Catch ya later, if you want a fair fight." Fang yelled over his aerobike, The Marvelous Queen. He and his gang then sped off.

(...Explain Sonic the Fighters. with his 3 hit, Sonic can knock down Bark. Oh, and Chiharu is actually a physical masnifestation of his soul, condensed for his suitable type of fighting. You can't really just grab it, although considering others have made the same mistake, I'll let it go.)

Station Square- Rooftops

".....Haven't had a decent battle in a bit... Thanks for the help there." Sam said, looking at Sonic, also eying the emerald.

(To begin with, that is Sonic not Sam, who has displayed a great amount of physical strength. Second, Bark never grabbed the sword. He simply dodged it.)

Secret hideout

Fang and his gang had made it to safety. At least they thought.

"Well guys, we blew it." Fang said.

"Hope the building burns to nothing." Bean said.

"So what now boss. We have no work." Bark grumbled.

"First, we're going get better weapons. Get to work Bean."

Bean started grumbling to himself and went to work.

Fang laid back on his chair, and polished his boots. Bark went to start
bench-pressing.

-Station Square-

Sonic just shrugged at Sam, grinning, then jumped down, handing him the Chaos Emerald back.

"You have to be careful if you get your hands on one of these things," Sonic grinned, then paused, turning as Lilly and Manny appeared.

"Who are you guys?" the blue speeedster wondered.

Quote just sort of look at them, wondering the same thing...

They settled down seeing the action was already gone and approuched the friendly looking group.

"You can call us Emerald hunters." Manny boasted.

"I'm Lilly and thats Manny, my brother." Lilly said.

Emonic suddenly pulled out of the shadows across from his teammates behind the group.

"And I really need those Emeralds." He said.

"Yeah!" Manny yelled in to sound cool.

"Thats Emonic, hes friendly challenged..." She said in a sort of hushed tone.

(Emonic, you really don't have to take the time to change the color for each of your characters when they're talking. You can if you want though.)

-Station Square-

"Why?" Sonic wondered, looking at Emonic, "Why do you need the Emeralds? In my experience, no one ever wants them for a good thing."

He paused though. The third member of his team had yet to arrive. Did something happen?

Station Square

Sam looked at Emonic, then back at Sonic. "....You mentioned you had another person in your group, Mario, was it? Where is he?" Sam said, looking around.

-Station Square-

“Eh,” Sonic said, shrugging, “He’s just slower then me. Of course, so is everyone else. I’m sure he’s fine.”

-Unknown Lair-

“This…is…boring…” a green hedgehog growled, laying in a giant throne.

“Will you get out of my throne?” Bowser growled at the hedgehog. Scourge just made a face at him. “Why…you!”

“Will you two lunkheads calm down?” a female voice demanded, appearing with a sort of flash, looking annoyed, “Aren’t we suppose to find these Chaos Emeralds? Not bickering amongst each other?”

“So then let’s go!” Scourge said, “Sittin’ around and doin’ nothin’ ain’t my style.”

Bowser growled. He did halfway agree with Scourge on that point.

“But Sonic, Mario, and that annoying robot seem to have teamed up,” Misery pointed out, “We need a plan of attack first to deal with them…Along with anyone else who tries to get in our way…”

Emonic looked angerly at Sonic. He had no right to ask him questions. But he just stood there looking like he was ready to fight.

Lilly noticed this too and quickly flew up and over infront of Emonic.
"Look, we have our reasons and there not anything bad." Lilly said.

"Yeah, so no hard feelings when thats no longer in your hands!" Manny yelled laughing.

Lilly turned and whispered something to Emonic.

"Ok team, lets leave." He said sinking into the ground.

Lilly flew up high quickly catching Manny who flung himself into the air using his tail. The two flew off while Emonic ran through shadows between the buildings below.

Station Square: Rooftops

"I'd hate to be the guy who explains the obvious, but shouldn't we take this fire out?" Sam said, slightly sweating.

-Station Square: Rooftops-

Sonic spun around the fire, creating a vortex that sucked the air out, the fire dieing down.

"Those three were weird...Wonder what they wanted the Chaos Emeralds for..."

"Wahoo!"

Suddenly, from the alleyway came a red capped plumber, jumping from wall to wall, and landing on the roof.

"Finally here, slowpoke," Sonic chuckled, then turned back to Sam, "Anyways, you already know me. That's Quote." he pointed to the white human robot, who just nodded, "And this Mario."

"Nice to-a meet you," Mario said politely, removing his cap and nodded, then putting his hat back on.

Station Square: Rooftops

"Name's Sam, nice to meet ya as well." He bowed. "I'm starting to wonder the same thing. Although, as you said, most people want it for their own reasons, are you collecting any, and if so, what's your reason?

-Station Square Rooftops-

"Actually, yah, we are looking for the Chaos Emeralds," Sonic said, "Quote here needs them to hopefully help a friend of his, and word's out some bad guys are looking for them. Can't let them fall into the wrong hands."

Sonic paused, thinking, as Quote stepped forward. The three then began to talk to themselves.

"Hey, Sam, right?" Sonic asked, "What do you say about you coming with us? Never hurts to have a helping hand."

Station Square: Rooftops

"Sure, why not. We have one here, so how do we find the others?" Sam said, looking at the emerald.
