Well, rumor has it that Sega (the company that brought you Alex Kidd, Streets of Rage, and, of course, Sonic the Hedgehog) and Capcom (the company that brought you Mega Man, Street Fighter, and Ace Attorney: Phoenix Wright) are teaming up for a crossover game that I totally didn't see coming.
But, hey, Capcom has already had a history of teaming up with other companies. We've had Marvel vs. Capcom, Capcom vs. SNK, Namco x Capcom (which sadly didn't make it to the U.S.), and the upcoming Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (which also seems won't be coming to the U.S. due to licensing issues with Tatsunoko the likes of which are similar to JUS). So, I guess Capcom teaming up with Sega isn't that surprising, but certainly unexpected. I, for one, hope the rumor is true. If we can't have a Nintendo vs. Sega, a Sega vs. Capcom is definitely the next best thing!

Well, we might find out more about this probably pretty soon. The article mentions that the game is to be announced at the Tokyo Game Show, which I believe is today.
From the sound of it, the gameplay sounds like it'll be very similar to that of Namco x Capcom (which as I already stated, never made it to the U.S.). If this game is more than just a rumor, then I think chances are good that it'll be coming over here. What killed NxC from getting over here is that Namco believed that too many of their characters were too obscure. Sega, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have that kind of issue (otherwise we wouldn't have something like Sega Superstars Tennis).
And, ya, Avenger, as much as I may not be a fan of Shadow... the truth is that he is a rather popular character. I have no doubt that he'll be in this game. But, on the other hand, we should also be getting a lot of other great characters from other game series.
I'm already making my own little wishlist of characters. :heh:
And considering how many serious, "manly" game series Capcom has, Sega would be wise to include characters from games like Streets of Rage and Golden Axe and not just fill up their entire roster with Sonic characters.
Anybody have their own little wishlist of characters? I'll share mine if someone else shares theirs first.

Are you kidding with me I heard this game is going to be on DS & PSP System later on they might make it on a WII Version I hope this rumor is true I would love to play this game here a couple of link I think you should check out I think you will find this intersting but hey we will wait & see about this. on this link they said it will come out on the DS System on Q1, 2009 holly crap

From everything I've been able to gather (which is absolutely nothing), this may just be a rumor, afterall. But, it's spread throughout the entire internet like wildfire.
Hmmm, I think we still need to wait and see what's up, but as I hate disappointment, I'll just go ahead and keep my expectations of this rumor being true very low. But I'll admit it's still a possibility (afterall, I think I've said the same things in regards to Sonic being in Brawl).
