This just in: "Coraline is incredibly awesome".

That is all. Thank you.

I probably should have specified that I'm talking about the movie. XD

As for the book... I actually went ahead and ordered the original book off of Amazon now that I've seen the movie.

And the video-game... I had no idea there was one, nor do I really have much interest in it since games that are movie tie-ins are... well... they usually suck. Especially if the movie is really, really good, the game is more likely to suck. XD

Though, if for some reason I were discussing the game, then I totally posted it in the wrong forum, as this one is for TV, Movies, and Literature. :p

Indeed, it was! Aaaaand... now I shall just copy and paste what I typed over at dA just to give this thread more substance. XD

Anywho, I saw it last night! It really was amazing! But, unlike what you mentioned, Tim Burton actually had nothing to do with it, I found out! It was directed by Henry Selick. The trailers and TV spots say "from the director of The Nightmare Before Christmas", and that movie was directed by Henry Selick, but it was produced by Tim Burton. Coraline, on the other hand, has NO involvement from Tim Burton, whatsoever. :p

And, yes, They Might Be Giants did indeed have a song in the movie! It was the "Other Father Song"! Sadly, the song is way too short. :(

*cough* But thanks to Demonoid, that song is now in my collection... still wish it was longer, though.

And, apparently, They Might Be Giants actually produced a WHOLE bunch of songs for the film, but they were rejected because they weren't "creepy" enough. In the end, though, they did at least end up using one song.

I'd really like to hear these other songs, though. :(

I really, really, really want to see this movie. And for once, I have money to go and see a movie.

...

I need a car. >_<

You should totally go see it, GS! It's awesome! And, I'll be completely honest (and hope nobody laughs at me), but this is actually the first time I've ever gone to go see a 3-D movie. Holy crap, I never realized how realistically 3-D that stuff can get! There were many parts where things really did seem like they were popping out of the screen and coming right at me! O.O
