Title: Cosplay
Description: Ideas/Progress/Etc...

Crystal Rose - June 17, 2009 01:04 AM (GMT)
Hey guys! Well since I know Cosplaying is something many of us enjoy doing or would like to do in the near future how about a topic all about it?

Who would you like to cosplay as?
Any Progress?
Need help/suggestions?
Finished result!
Pictures?

Keep us updated on how everything is going, I love to see the processes of outfits!

I know i've already started brainstorming what i'm going to do for next year's Animazement. One day for sure i'll be reusing the CR outfit from this year (Afterall you can never get enough of Crystal!) and then i'm debating on trying to do Blackfire from Teen Titans or Eva Wei from Oban!

Why Blackfire? Well I was looking through my little sister's dance costume lists and one of them had a silver onepiece that would work great for Blackfire. Then all that would be needed would be a skirt, boot covers, and a shirt which cant be too hard since black is an easy color to find. And then a long black wig! And you know what's the best part? I can use the long black wig for my next outfit i'm gonna do..........

Kanna! :DDDD

I promised Tazzy and I have to admit being Kanna would be freakin cool, I could be all not smiley and homicidal and not look crazy XD

...Plus fishnet sleeve. It would rock.

So discuss!

I think I'd love to be Gohan or The Doctor.

Or even, if I can get a classy enough outfit, Jin Kazama.

C-Cosplay? I actually haven't thought of such a thing. If I either grew my hair out and dye my hair orange, or got a wig, I'd probably make a decent Hwoarang: I am Korean, after all. Neglect to mention that old Taekwondo uniform might be lying around somewhere...or I'll have to get military style clothes. But I'm not the age...yet. Only 14. Hibari Kyoya from Rebron!? would be nice, but I doubt I'd find the tonfa...or the elaborate clothing.

Oh great. Now you're gonna chase me down begging me to fight you.

And then I'll have to blow you and your motorcycle to smithereens.

You'd just look crazy to everyone who doesn't know the Mocha. That would be an awesome cosplay, though!

As for myself, I've never really thought of cosplaying, though if I did, I'd definitely have to find a character that I think I could look similar to, and come up with a realistic looking outfit for. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right!! (actually, I usually don't really like seeing cosplayers that both physically don't look fairly similar to whom they're supposed to be, and are wearing stuff that looks too "unnatural" or "unrealistic" for the real world). But I don't know who it'd be that I'd try...

I pretty much agree with everything DP just said, both about CR cosplaying as Kanna and his comments about "unnatural" cosplaying.

That being the case, I think the only characters I could pull off would be either Mario or Master Higgins (though preferably I'd go with the former since the latter would require me to go shirtless).

First of all: Kanna = Awesome. XD

You could scare children and carry around a cooler full of spare body parts. XD

... What? It seems like something she'd do.

I'd love to cosplay, but I've never had the correct resources to make a costume, or the spare cash to buy one. Off the top of my head I think it would be fun to try Roy Mustang, The Joker or Wonder Sama.

Sama, I just laughed so hard that I spit out my snow cone.....XD

It's destiny now! Oh and then Tazzy can dress up again like Rina and we can FIGHT TO THE DEATH. :DDD Okay maybe no death...Since death sounds a little painfull....XD

Roy would be really cool to see! Especially if you can pull of the fire :DDDD

I'd love to cosplay, even though it's bein' someone you're not XD

I would cosplay as KxS (which I've done for Halloween last year), or I could cosplay a Charizard. Just because XD

And because Avenger somehow ninja-posted me, I must say...that is cool.

A couple years ago I went as The Spork for Halloween. Man, there should be a picture somewhere on the family computer. I should look for it when I can!

Anyways, it wasn't complete. Even more so now.

I'd need some new black pants (the ones I have have become dirty work pants), and new boots. My dad's old Army boots don't fit anymore. My feet are to big for them!

And I'd need to get a spork symbol on the black shirt...But if I get a job, I can go to this shirt place I know that can do things like that, and get that done easily...

I went as Sylar once too, and I think I pulled that off well...

ANYWAYS.

Man, I know I'm going as Charles Darwin (I think the only real person mentioned here so far XD), since it's 200 years since he was born and what not.

I know I'd like to try cosplaying as The Doctor too, like Avenger, and it might be fun going as Ben Tennyson or something...Hmmm...

Can't say that I've done cosplaying before, but I did used to wear a costume on stage with my old band, yellow sponge foundation... Have to say, the Tinman design has changed quite a bit since this photo was taken XD

By the way, the other guy is Baghead man... Used to tape the mic to the end of a pool que and use that while wearing a plastic bag on his head... I only started wearing the sausepan on my head later on :heh:

You know, a friend and I got together recently, and as a result of that and some borrowing that I did, I now have multiple cosplay pics of Brother Didymus (Spirit and Steam), which I MAY or MAY NOT post on deviantart or here...

...but yeah, I have them. :D

The Vidit of Light - September 25, 2009 02:16 PM (GMT)
Okay, a couple of you may have already seen this, but either way, allow me to present a Spirit and Steam/general TVoL-influenced fantasy cosplay:

Brother Didymus, at prayer.

SonicDaMan - September 25, 2009 04:47 PM (GMT)
I dressed up as Super Mario last year for Halloween. (I made the costume from real clothing. I had a hell of a time finding overalls XD)

Does that count?

Jester King of Meyhem - December 8, 2009 05:40 AM (GMT)
I don't think so. I mean it's Halloween. Everyone dresses for up Halloween. Then again all Halloween is is just a bunch of people doing cosplay for a night. I'm so confused.
