Just wondering but what made you a Sonic fan to begin with? Was it way back in the early days of Sega Genesis or was it until later when shows likes SatAM, AoStH, and much later on Sonic X? Did you become a fan because of the shows or because of the games? I became a fan because of the games, there's nothing like a good Sonic game

The games for me. I used to play them at a friend's house.

I got Sonic 2 & Genesis pack for my birthday (after that old cruddy SNES with KidIcarus of mine broke) and I've lurved Sonic ever since. :3 At some point I got Archie comics #16 and the rest is history. ^_^

What game GoldenSama in particular made you a fan? For me it wasn't until Sonic 3 came out

Hmmm....I don't remember.I think it was the games though.Then I read some stuff about the comics and then I watched the show.

Ever since I was 9 at meh townhouse in NC, I watched Teh Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog on Toon Disney at like, 1 in teh mornin'. I loved it so much, but then meh mom got rid of our Time Warner Cable, and I didn't get Toon Disney anymore. ;_;

I was a fan when AoStH came on at like 6 am when I was in 4th grade, I also had a sega and played Sonic 2 tons

but then I moved to Germany and forgot about it

Then I came back watched AoSTH on Toon disney reeeaaalllyy early before school.

Then I moved back to Germany and forgot about it yet again

But then about a month before I moved back to America my friend Jasmine showed me Sonic X on British Jettex (sp?)

I hated it......

Then I moved back to America played SA2: B and fell in love with it all over again!! Thats when I gave Sonic X another chance and began to love it too!!!

Curious how these things work. How one becomes a fan in the first place affects one's views of Sonic. For instance, I have always been more into the comics, but I recognize the importance of the games because that was my first experience in Sonic.

BTW, I totally stunk. XD Now I can blaze through any game they put before me, but back then I just couldn't get past that part at the end of Chemical Plant where you had to jump up the Mega-Muck filled shaft using those moving yellow blocks- I always drowned before the top. X_X I was stuck on that for about 2 years.

Well it all started on a system called a Genisis. With a game called Sonic The Hedgehog 2 the rest as tthey say is history

hehe, I know what you are referring to with AoStH, I had to wake up at like 4 AM to watch the show to see it. Now it's gone for good (WAAAH!), best Sonic cartoon in my view.

I understand what you're saying with falling in love with a Sonic game that makes you want to be a Sonic fan all over again. I remember Sonic 3D Blast coming out and I was really disappointed. Then I became a fan all over again when I first played Sonic Adventure and it just took off from there. I was really happy to see and play Sonic in REAL 3D.

Im a peer helper so all I do is grade papers and help little kids for 3 hours of the school day.

Im usually typing out notes and lessonplans for my teacher for about an hour so I thought that would be a chance to get on ^_^;

hmm...For me I had a friend who lived at the end of my street. She'd invite me over and we'd always play Sonic and Tails on what I belive was a genisis. I don't exactly the platform it was so long ago. She'd be Sonic and I, tails. I hated the game but oddly... several years later I got into it. It was either 4th grade or the summer of going into the 6th grade. Within that timespan. After that I got a giant collection of Sonic comics while visiting some family in another state. (Wow, I haven't read those for a while.) Then, I decided to collect the games!! I only have four. :heh: But I've been a huge fan after that!

I became a fan last summer XD.

I had a friend that was HUGE on Sonic, and he let me play some of his games on his GameCube. I LOVED Sonic Riders!

I immediately chose Knuckles as my fave character, because we both had the same personality.....exept I'm not as selfish.....and I don't have a lot of choises for a boyfriend. XD

Well, when I was 5 or 6 I got a Master System for my birthday. On it was Sonic the Hedgehog. That was when I first descovered him but it wasn't until later on that I started to like him. In First School my friend brought in a couple of comic books entitled 'Sonic The Comic'. I asked if I oculd borrow them and I thought it rocked. After a while I began to descover even more video games and before long, Sonic Jam came out on the Saturn. I played that game, and that game only for an entire year (not non-stop XD ). Next Christmas I got given sonic R and that was when I became a huge sonic fan.

Yup, and to this day Sonic R is still my fave ^_^

I became a fan by playing the first sonic game and by watching the show AoSth.
Got to thank my brother and his ex for having the games.

I'm seriously going to be sick. I mean... It's a damn shame with these "new fans", only knowing about the current games and that pathetic excuse for a TV show.

As for me...

I second that. The anime was HORRIBLE, and the new fans should probably check out the more classic games. As for me, I actually, when was little, bought a Sonic Classic collection: Sonic 1, 2, and 3 with Knuckles. I've been a fan ever since!

Oh lay off ChaosHalberd and Avenger. The more sonic fans, no matter what they like, the better. Though I liked the games when I was little, it was not until I saw Sonic X in Germany that I started to like the fandom again. It's like saying people who like the pokemon show aren't real fans of Pokemon or something.

I did too actually! It was the best character designs yet since most of the older 3D games had such rough designs. It was cool to see them in anime form. Of course that only counts for the original characters and not the humans (the company that does the Sonic games and shows really need to work on human design don't they?)

I became a fan from just sonic's awesome speed to his cocky phrases, hes awesome and thats why I became a sonic fan. (The games are what kept me going through the day)

Hey, we all discovered sonic in different ways. Just because she got into the anime soesn't make her a 'bad fan' or anything.
Besides, I kinda liked the anime :D

I may have started with the game, but m sister didn't like video games at the time.

Although.....we may HAVE been Sonic fans when we were pretty little...truth is that we used to watch The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog when I was.....3. No wonder I don't remember anything but the credits >.<....
