THE RAPIDVERSE
Hi, all! Welcome to the Rapidverse - a dimension of Sonic specially crafted to include every possible dimension of the Sonic multiverse. Why? So that it can be reused- when you start an RP, you can choose to have it take place in the Rapidverse, so that the actions that occur in this RP will have already happened, and OCs and villans will need no introduction. Or, you can just use this universe, and disregard the happenings of another RP. By stating that it happens in the Rapidverse you won’t need to explain the state of the universe. ^_^

This is a very flexible universe. Instead of saying it’s a universe like Sonic X’s except no humans, you can just say it happens in the Rapidverse, where, although there is a Robotropolis and a Knothole Village and a Station Square, you can IGNORE those cities and the existence of humans and just have a battle with Robotnik in the wilderness.
I’m just hoping to lend RPs a little continuity by building a universe that can suit everyone’s needs at the same time; for instance, an RP where the Sega gang explores the Mystic Ruins can occur after someone else’s RP about the Freedom Fighters invading Robotropolis, and they can reuse the same OC without needing to introduce them or make any reference at all to Sally or Knothole.

LOOK AT THE MAP! I beg of you.

Places:
Mystic Ruins: Ancient Echidna place, surrounded by a jungle inhabited sparsely by cats, badniks, gorillas, other things, and a Neanderthal named Mobie. Includes Big's hut and VGCats village.
Robotropolis: Domain of Robotnik and his nephew, Snively. A smog-filled technological jungle, it is patrolled by Swatbots and roboticized Mobians, a.k.a. Robians. Very dangerous.
Great Forest: A huge place. Anything can happen here… It contains Knothole City, the Lake of Rings, the V-Torix, and lots and lots of trees.
Knothole City: Formerly a village, it has recently become more advanced. It has always been the center of Mobian power; there was never a Mobotropolis, but there was the second half of the Great Forest where Robotropolis is now. The city has a castle and King Acorn, as well as Princess Sally and the Freedom Fighters, of which Sonic and Tails are members even if they aren’t around as much as in the Archieverse. Has huts and some parts of it are hidden; others, like the castle and the market, are not. Humans freely enter and trade, though not that often.
Station Square: One of the most important cities on Mobius, this is where most of the human population lives. Mobians do inhabit this area, but not very many. The Mayor has total control over this city, and is only second to the President himself.
Eggmanland: Eggman’s domain. Protected by badniks, it’s a well-defended fortress with many technological wonders. Surrounding areas are nothing but death traps disguised as technology.
Mortmain Mountains: Mysterious mountain range. Contains Nate Morgan's Castle, a Nova Labs outpost, a mysterious psychic temple, Eggbotnik's Lair, the Metallix HeadQuarters, the city of Omashu, Mt. Neverest, and Care Bear Land.
Angel Island: A picturesque paradise with a wide range of climates, this island floats over the area in a circular motion, powered by the Master Emerald on the altar, which is protected by the Guardian.
The village of Portal is a tribal village of Echidnas led by Pachamac and his daughter Tikal, both named after their ancestors.
The city of Echidnaopolis is a city of technologically advanced echidnas; they keep to themselves and will have little effect on the storyline unless they’re wanted. Unlike the Archieverse, these have always been there.
Little Planet: This mysterious planet appears over Never Lake every so often. Fades in and out of time, it is powered by the six Time Stones.
Badlands: Unspecified semidangerous land in the middle. Contains Bottom-of-the-Barrel BAr & Grill and a huge Crater.



THE THREE HEROES:
The super-fast king of popularity, the angsty, angry Guardian, and the timid technological genius the Chosen One, these three are inextricably intertwined with every Rapidverse story...
Sonic: A free spirit. Though he has his Uncle Chuck in Knothole City, he has no official home. He lives on South Island, in a hut in Knothole City, in an apartment in Station Square, wherever you want him to. He jokes, but he can be serious at times.
Love interests: Well, he does know Archieverse-like Princess Sally, and he does know SonicXverse-like Amy, and Mina, and Sera (The President’s daughter), but it’s up to whoever plays Sonic how much in love he is with any of them.
Tails: You know him. Mechanical builder, has planes, a workshop, two tails, hangs with Sonic. I’d describe him more but I know how much he’s already loved… and anyway, he’s pretty much the same in any universe.
Love interests: Cosmo, Mina (!), Cream.
Knuckles: Guardian of the Floating Island, a.k.a. Angel Island. Which means he not only protects the Master Emerald on top of its altar, but also the many inhabitants of Angel Island. These include the animals living throughout his forests, but also the village of Portal on the Western edge and the city of Echidnaopolis in the middle.
Love interests: Rouge the Bat, Julie-Su, Rose.

THE FUTURE CREW
It's unclear as to whether they are from the Rapidverse dimension or not, but if they're not, their dimension is very similar.
Pexxus (The next Sonic, this groundhog has a good heart and strong fists!)
Ginger (Pex's love interest, this squirrel is, and eats, nuts!)
Elric (This gorilla is strong and super smart! ...okay, well just strong.)
Lime (A crocobunny, the spawn of Vector and Vanilla is a supergenius!)
Lara-Su (The daughter of Knuckles and wouldn't-you-like-to-know is a Guardian!)

THE FIVE ROBOTNIKS:
In this universe, there are five Robotniks: Dr. Robotnik, Dr. Eggman, Dr. Eggbotnik, Dr. Oldbotnik, and Black Metal Eggman. Why? The first three were all here in this dimension since childhood, they all have the same DNA- yet clearly, two of them were brought (or brought themselves!) over from other dimensions. They all claim to be the ‘real’ Robotnik, but nobody else is that concerned. They are aware of their own treacherous nature, and also are peeved about the whole ‘real’ thing, so they distrust each other and don’t work together that much. But sometimes they do.
Robotnik: Rules Robotropolis with his nephew Snively and army of Swatbots. It’s a smoky, smoggy, polluted place, and he is continually being attacked by the Knothole Freedom Fighters, who seek to take down Robotropolis and restore the land to the forest it once was. History in FtE thread.
Eggman: The "nice" one. Primary base is Eggmanland, but has many. The first ‘Robo’ to meet Sonic, when he tried to take over South Island. (Eggman, not Sonic!) He’s the one who, as in the games, built the Death Egg and the Egg Carrier, tried to take over Angel Island and Tiny Planet and Christmas Island and Station Square, who released Chaos and did bad stuff. He has a crush on Sera, the President's daughter, and he’s Sonic’s primary enemy and has an army of badniks. There's a select few of his many badniks which are usually the most active. The SSSSS Squad, which consist of Scratch and a green Grounder (more advanced than his red colored cousins, but unfortunately, not smarter), are often the ones sent to create a diversion for Sonic. Boccoe and Deccoe are Eggman's assistants, and often operate his machines. Bokkun is his personal messenger.
Evo Eggbotnik: Has built Breezie and Robotnik Jr, but other than that... not much is known. He's unlike the others, however, that much is certain. All will be explained eventually, but for now, there is nothing to say.
Oldbotnik: CPoC's OC. The future version of Eggman, it's not clear if he's from this dimension or not, but he sure hates Pexxus and Sonic! Being from the future, he has superior skillz.
Black Metal Eggman: A creation of Eggman's. See "METALLIX".

THE METALLIX:
A society of evil formed by the robotic imitations of Sonic by Eggman.
Black Metal Eggman: The leader, he kicks MAJOR boo-tay. Once tried to use the Black Egg to take over the world.
Metal Sonic: Slowly, he is gaining more and more of Sonic’s personality as well as his speed. RECENTLY, he has been deroboticized to become Unmetal. See "Unmetal".
Metal Knuckles: Strong and sturdy, this wordless behemoth is unshakable and wants to take Knuckles' place as Guardian.
Silver Sonic: Extremely practical, this original Sonic-imitation acts nothing like him. He does what he needs to survive.
Others: Tails Doll, Silver Snively, Robotnik Jr., Breezie, RoboAntoine

THE DARK LEGION:
An ancient echidna society that believes technological echidnas should rule everything. Knuckles’ great-uncle, 17 generations removed, founded this order and his descendants, the Commanders of the Dark Legion, have been the rivals of his brother’s descendants, the Guardians of Angel Island, for eons.
Kragok: Current Commander. He rocks! He has a rivalry with Knuckles.
Kommisar/Lien-Da: Current Second-in-Command. Nast-ay!
Julie-Su: Dimitri’s descendant and traitor to the Legion, she’s Knuckles’ friend and lives in Echidnaopolis.
Moritori Rex: Kragok and Kommissar's father, the Guardian he fought against was Bones the Echidna.
Luger: Moritori's father. Makes sense that he would have been rivals with the Guardian inbetween Spectre and Bones, which would be Knuckles' dad.
Dr. Finitevus: Cheif scientist of the Legion, the Guardian he fought against when he led the Legion was Spectre.
Dimitri/Enerjak: The founder of the legion. Dead for hundreds of years.

THE METAREX:
A galaxy-owning space fleet of biomechanical troopers, the cruel Metarex follow their leader, Dark Oak, in stealing the Planet Eggs from every planet in the solar system, making them unlivable by the inhabitants and ruled by the Metarex.
Dark Oak: Leader of the Metarex. With the absorbed powers of thousands of Planet Eggs, he rivals the power of any Emerald except the Infinity Emerald. He has been defeated time and time again by heroes throughout the galaxy and throughout the past hundred milennia... but he always seems to rise again.
Starcruiser: Metarex ship that destroyed Cosmo's planet.
Monkeyrex: That stupid Metarex that sets Wile-E.-Coyote-style traps and laughs like a chimp.
Gundarex: Giant robot Metarex, the most common type.

Forty Fathoms Freedom Fighters: Led by Fin the Shark in the coral reef? Ray, Bottlenose, Fluke, P.B., etc.

1) :huh: Did you forget her name? You mean Harle? Yeah, she's locked in the Temple of the Sky, the one from Sonic Adventure. It's not labeled and I know I can't draw, but it's right in the middle of the Mystic Jungle, on the upper-left hand corner of the map.
She was locked there at the end of the RP Infinity Emerald... we don't know the details because the RP never finished. ^_^
Someone should write a fic finishing it! :D

Mammoth Mogul is the WORST villan in Archie history! Portrayed as a manipulative, wise warrior, he comes across as nothing but a BAD Enerjak impression! In FACT, a BAD, DRUNKEN, MINDLESS Enerjak impression!!

Mammoth Mogul was born when hedgehogs were still evolving into Sonics. He got a Chaos Emerald stuck to his chest and became immortal, taking over the primeval world until his subjects, from what we were shown one (1) hedgehog-caveman and one (1) human-caveman, 'revolted', a.k.a., walked away.

Throughout the ages (apparently, even though WE NEVER HEARD OF HIM before Sonic Super Special #1, Battle Royale) he schemed and stuff, preseumably taking over the world and losing it again, because as we're TOLD, but is never DEMONSTRATED, he's MASTER strategist and AMAZING genius!

His big plan: Trick Sonic and the Freedom Fighters into fighting Knuckles and the Chaotix to steal the Sword of Acorns... which he uses- get this- to drain the power of 14 Chaos Emeralds out of Enerjak and become SUPREME CHAOS MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE! AND HE SUCEEDS! (until Turbo Tails defeats him and blahblahblah but that's not the point)

The point is: He's annoying. He keeps coming back from the dead and being a MORON. Why? Because he's portrayed as MANIPULATIVE, a MASTER STRATEGIST, who's been alive for ages and planning to take over the world. Which would be GREAT! EXCEPT, despite how many times they TELL us he's all that, unlike Robotnik (the REAL Robotnik, not the comic-releif pansy we've got now) Mogul still thinks, after all these years, that you can take over the world in a DAY. With BRUTE FORCE. Now WHY would a MASTER CHESS-PLAYIN' MOVING-HIS-PAWNS-AROUND-TO-SUIT-HIS-GREAT-PLANS dude think you could POSSIBLY take over the world by FORCE? Wouldn't he, like Robotnik (again, the real one) try to take over using, oh, I don't know, SUBTLTY, by taking over kingdoms by earning their trusts and then using coup-de-gras and slave-making to take over like the (real) Robotnik did? HUH? I ASK YOU.

AND, he killed Knuckles. KILLED him. WHY? No particular reason. "Let me steal all your Chaos Power, Knuckles, thereby killing you and transferring all your power to me so I can try to beat up everyone in the world again and lose by the next issue, ho ho, or I'll cut off Dimitri's life support! Red Pine was not forgotten, he is technically a member of the Metarex; Dark Oak's army. Therefore he is listed under Metarex. Not by name, but he is included with the rest of DO's army.

Ahhh yes.

Lunazone, Blaze and whonot are not in the Rapidverse unless you want them to be... meaning, because they originate in other dimensions they're not automatically included in the Rapidverse.

I will be starting Twilight Alignment: TLFSE, the RP, at some point in the kind-of-near future. If Blaze or Eggman Nega or Zonic or Lunazone or Aurthur Dent show up in a Rapidverse RP like that one, they'll be added to the list. ^_^

Basically, because they originate in a non-Sonic dimension, they have to be RPed to join the list. ^_^

BTW, Blaze the Cat ROCKS. I haven't beat the last bosses yet, but I've played through *most* of Sonic Rush, and let me tell you: she's awesome!! Unfortunately, most fans probably won't get to know her... u_u;

One day, out of the blue, Sonic was attacked by an alternate - female - version of his enemy, Robotnik. The evil Ivana Robotina would have turned Sonic into a monster had it not been for her mortal enemy - Pretty Soldier Sally Moon! Very little is known about Sally Moon - only that she is not only a defender of Mobius in the Luna Zone, but she is also a princess just like her Mobius Prime counterpart, Sally Acorn.

When summoned by zone cop Zonic from another zone to stop Ivana, she and her partner Chibi Rose, and her boyfriend (much to Sonic's chagrin) Tuxedo Knux, fought and defeated Ivana. Though Sally Moon's invervention was brief, it allowed for the introduction of Zonic and revealed that Sonic's "zone-hopping" was actually Zonic's doing.

Even if I can't come up with a good (story-wise) way to get her in there, I'll just have to come up with some sort of uninspired storyline to get Blaze in there. Hahahaha!!! (just kidding about that uninspired storyline part. If the next RP fits with including Blaze, I'll definitely try to be there to get her in that RP).

Yes, she does! Maybe Sega will be nice and maybe make a Sonic Rush sequel, and/or put her in more accessable (Sonic Heroes-like, multiplatform) games, and/or put her in Sonic X (if Sonic X still being produced, which I have no clue about). Right now, I'm at Altitide Limit Zone with both character's stories, after four days of owning the game. Ack... I'm starting to get a bit off topic...

I was actually going to ask why Blaze the cat isn't included in Sonic Rapidverse.
Personally I'd like to see her in there. I like the concepts by the way, I wanted to create a way to blend all the Sonic universes all together.
Maybe you could create a "multidimentional heroes" catagory as a suggestion?
Also, maybe Honey the Cat and Tiara could be included? They're characters that never go to be used (Honey in Sonic the Fighters and Tiara in Sonic extreme).
Every world could use a few more cats. :3

As for Honey and Tiara, I don't know much about those characters, but I would assume they're also good for Rapidverseinization.

Wikipedia info on Honey:

a yellow cat-like character with black hair, that never made it to the final version of the game. Little is known about Honey other than she is based on Candy (who, coincidentally, is named Honey in Japan) from Fighting Vipers, which Sonic the Fighters was based upon. Her in-game data is near complete. Her model when squashed by the Piko-Piko hammer reveals she was based on Amy. She has a complete moveset. There is a bug in her eye system, causing one eye to look at the camera but the other to look in the opposite direction, making Honey look strange in some scenes. She does not have any artwork for the pre-level scenes, so it defaults to Eggman. Unlike other characters, when both characters select Honey, there is an actual alternate costume for her instead of a grayscale version.


No idea about Tiara though.

Blaze was in the Rapidverse, but this isn't really up to date... nor has there been a Rapidverse RP in a looooong time. There's been Sonic RPs, but unless the Rapidverse canon has changed or something, I'm certain they're not part of the Rapidverse due to the way they were described. So, the Rapidverse hasn't been utilized for quite some time now.

I like the concept behind the rapidverse, there's so much you can do with it, and it seems to blend well and compromise the other Sonic universes.
Now here's the thing, if a Rapidverse RP was set up, would be be allowed to use our own characters too?
I actually think it'd be interesting if an entire world was based off our own characters here at Rapidboard. I've seen other forums do stuff like it, whether
it's fanfiction or roleplaying or Fancomics. o.o
