Way back in September of 2003, this project of rearranging all of the music from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was started over on the OverClocked ReMix forums. It took one and a half years to complete, but it finally got done. This project covers all of the music in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, including the not-used-in-the-game Hidden Palace Zone theme, as well as every 1-player and 2-player Zone.
All of the music there is free to download, in case you are wondering. I definitely recommend this stuff to all fans of Sonic music (especially Sonic 2's music). Even though, I personally don't like how a couple of these ReMixes did not expand much on the original tune from the game (i.e. almost exactly the same music, only with new instrumentation), I believe you all will find these tracks to be enjoyable to listen to. Even if you are stuck with a 56k phone connection and still would like to check these out, try to download at least the analoq ReMixes: Oil Spill (Oil Ocean Zone), Next My Generation (Metropolis Zone), and Sonik Caves (Mystic Cave Race).

Heh. Yeah, they are pretty good. Also, in case anyone wants more Sonic game arrangements (or arrangements for other games, for that matter), just head over to the main site (OCReMix) that project was formed on, and search around for a while (Search the "S" page for the Sonic ReMixes).
Oh, and also in case any of you are interested, there is a Sonic 3 & Knuckles project that is in the works, that will hopefully be completed by this Spring (or at least hopefully Sonic's 15th birthday). And from what I've heard of it (early WIPs and other... *shhh* ...stuff...), it's going to be awesome. Also, I'm (hopefully) going to put together some CD album covers for the project, at least as unofficial alternative covers, but hopefully after I get some stuff together, I might maybe get lucky and have it deemed to be official alternate art for it, or even the main official art for it...
