Title: Bleach Central
Description: Bleach stuff!

Dark Phazon - July 4, 2006 02:45 AM (GMT)
Bleach is a great anime and manga series from Japan, that hasn't really hit the US yet (since only the manga has been licenced, while the anime won't be officially released in the US until September). You probobly already know by now, but I love this series, for it's awesome action, great humor, and great drama/serious parts.

The anime is great, and you could probobly find all the episodes, plus the two OVAs, at youtube. Just search "Bleach", followed by the number of the episode you're looking for (don't type episode, as a few episodes aren't set with "episode" as a keyword, so you might not find the episode, even though it is there). If you can't find an episode at all, tell me, and I'll upload it onto youtube.

The manga is also pretty darn good, as well. But one of the biggest problems I've found, however, is that the ways to get the manga is kind-of tough. There are three main sites to get stuff from that I've found (Bleach Portal, Bleach 7, and BleachTV), but only one has most of the manga chapters available directly. That one, BleachTV, is not up to date, however, and is also slow to download from. Bleach Portal is completely up to date, but doesn't have many of the middle chapters. And Bleach 7 has more than Bleach Portal, as well as is the fastest to download of all three, but isn't up to date, either.

Soo, to help out a little (especially since BR asked about which site is the best for the manga), I've decided to group together the chapters into their volumes, and upload them onto Rapidshare, so people could kind-of quickly get a large amount of the series in just a few downloads, as well as not have to worry about signing up for a ton of websites (like I did. ha!). So here are the links to what I've uploaded (which right now is just less than half of the 230+ chapters out in Japan, so far):

http://rapidshare.de/files/24879958/Vol_1-3.zip.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/24874479/Vol_4-6.zip.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/24875702/Vol_7-8.zip.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/24876739/Vol_9-10.zip.html
http://rapidshare.de/files/24878435/Vol_11-12.zip.html

Each ZIP folder is about 70+ MB large, so if you're on a slow 56k connection, I'd recommend just going one chapter at a time, at one of the three sites above.

Everyone, I command you to bow down to DP's pwnage. *bow* AWESOME, DP.
A great manga, and a great anime! I realized happily that the anime actually has more to offer than just what is in the manga! O joy O rapture! :3 Tell me, DP, are there many notable differences?

As for the manga, the downloads here work great for me! You have to wait 78 minutes between each download, but you can't read 3 volumes in that time anyway. :p And this is MUCH easier than 230+ downloads, right DP? :D

As for YouTube, akerz415's episodes are full-length in one view, and can be found by typing in "Bleach *number of episode*." His comments all say "add me as a friend so u will be able to see my bulletins[...etc]" It's excellent! I recommend both!

Dark Phazon - July 4, 2006 03:35 AM (GMT)
I only can tell about a little bit from around the beginning, and at the end, for notable changes, because I haven't read much of the beginning of the manga yet. Most of the manga I've read is the stuff that's after the Soul Society arc, which is a long way away from where the downloads I've given are (like 80 more chapters away...)

But, a notable difference is everything around the Memories in the Rain volume (Volume 3). The main anime series (end of episode 7, to episode 9) adds in a shinigami that wasn't there for the Grand Fisher fight in the manga, and makes for even better foreshadowing of future events. Though there is an OVA, Memories in the Rain, that follows the manga a little closer than the main series did, but I still like the main series's version of the events better.

Also, after episode 63 or 64, the anime diverts into what naruto anime fans would consider a filler arc, because the anime closed too much on the manga. This arc involves people known as Bounto (Bount/Bounts). But these episodes are really good, even though they're "fillers," and are definitely worth a watch.

There's also another one-off OVA, The Sealed Sword Frenzy, which is really interesting, as well. But I wouldn't recommend watching it unless you are past the Soul Society arc, because even though it isn't part of any storyline/timeline, it does big-time spoil the Soul Society arc. And avoiding spoilers for that arc is VERY MUCH worth it (even though I read spoilers about the end of that arc anyway).

EDIT: just read SW2. BR, if you don't know already, Orihime DOES get some powers, soon enough!

:w00t:

Though honestly my interest in Bleach has become very little, I think since this is only four downloads I can do it. I mean, I'll have to delete it after I read it or I'll be hung from the rafters, but I would like to get to liking Bleach again.

Thanks DP.

GoldenSama - July 11, 2006 11:32 PM (GMT)
Okay, I've now downloaded all of Bleach! ^_^

I'm gonna watch Bleach Anime tonight, and probably start reading the manga tomorrow.

Kimiko - July 13, 2006 10:26 PM (GMT)
I'm reading volume 7 right now.

I LOVE IT. =) Seriously. It's great.

I have 1-4 and 6-8; the books store didn't have volume 5 >.> I'll have to look for it on Monday.

But I loooooove it sooooo much... Orihime is definately my favorite... XD She always has something funny and optimistic to say! :3 And teh day dreaming... "Run, Run me! I mean, Champ!" XD

GoldenSama - July 14, 2006 02:19 AM (GMT)
:w00t:

Thanks for the more Bleach, DP! ^_^

Kimiko - July 14, 2006 02:24 AM (GMT)
:3

I <3 you, DP. I <3 you so much.

BlueRush - July 14, 2006 06:12 AM (GMT)
Eh? What happened to the message here to me, that I saw before? I forget what it was, now, and it has since poofed... <.<;

Thanks very much DP! ^_^ I'll have to finish the anime fast, so I can get this all read!! :D *downloads*

Re: Orihime! Orihime rulez. :3 Always hilarious. Of course, I'm a pushover nice guy, so if you really wanted her for DC, I mean really, then we could probably work something out. ^_^ Which reminds me: You want Fuu, Kimeh? She should be here, but I couldn't play her very well, methinks...

Kimiko - July 14, 2006 06:56 AM (GMT)
I'll take Fuu, but you should really keep Orihime-- you're obvious much farther in Bleach than I am, and could probably get her powers down MUCH better than I could. :D Fuu is normal for the most part, so she'll be easy for me!

BlueRush - July 14, 2006 07:00 AM (GMT)
Okay, great! ^_^ Thanks! Fuu thanks you too.

As for Orihime-- sounds good. ^^ The more people from one manga, the better, though; as much as I like Orihime, which is a lot :3, I think it's good to have others sharing people in the same manga. So... I won't get too attached. ;D If you ever want to play Orihime after you've read a little more, just ask. :D

Kimiko - July 14, 2006 07:50 AM (GMT)
I certainly will. :3

Dark Phazon - July 17, 2006 04:02 AM (GMT)
haha! nice badge, Kimiko.

Well, if you are wondering about where the general end of the Soul Society arc is, in the anime, it ends around episode 63 or 64. In the manga, it ends at the beginning of volume 21, around chapter 180 or so.

After that, the anime starts the Bounto arc (a "filler" arc, in terms of how it isn't based on a part of the manga), and the manga starts the Vaizard/Arrancar arc. Both arcs are still ongoing, story-wise (the latest episode of the anime was 88, last Tuesday, and the latest chapter of the manga was 235, last week)

Kimiko - July 20, 2006 04:25 AM (GMT)
;)

I got 9-13 in Florida... so I'm here to download 14 and beyond. :3 I lke buyin' them so I can read them without having to get the computer from David. :3 But I can't wait til August! Thus the badge. :D

EDIT: Oh, I just have to wait 24 minutes! :D That's good. But my foot hurts from stomping it in anger... ouch... >.O Next time I'll just knock over David's trash can.

BlueRush - July 20, 2006 05:41 AM (GMT)
I don't have that kinda money to spend. ^^; Well, I do, but I spend it on other things. Other things... involving DOOM VIA SITH! Bohahaha!

Anyway: what's in August?

Kimiko - July 20, 2006 08:01 PM (GMT)
August is when Volume 14 comes out, and I can buy it. I'm sure I'll have raised eight dollars buy then XD Maybe.

I don't have that kind of money anymore, I spent it all. Manga is all I ever spned my money on. That and arcade credi, and that's not much. >.0

GoldenSama - July 21, 2006 03:48 PM (GMT)
All I have is what DP gives me.

I have no manga store here! Aragh!

Had I bought Bleach in Maryland... >_> Ahh, I wish I had now. I saw it, but I thought: "Bleach? They made a manga about clothes washing?"

... >_< I know, idiot!

Kimiko - July 22, 2006 08:04 PM (GMT)
That reminds me...

DP, why IS it called "Bleach"? XD I been wondering since Volume 2... I thought Volume 1 would explain it. o.O

Dark Phazon - July 24, 2006 06:20 AM (GMT)
I don't think anyone knows exactly why it's called Bleach (other than Kubo Tite, since he created the whole series). Here's Bleach Portal's answer to that question in there FAQ (since I'm too tired right now to stick it in my own words :heh: ):

QUOTE
There is no official reason to why Bleach is called Bleach although there are a few theories put forward. The First being that when Japanese people bleach their hair occasionally it doesn't go so well and goes Orange rather than Blonde. Ichigo is attacked in one manga chapter by a guy claiming Ichigo stole his hair style (In fact the guy bleached his hair, Ichigo just had his normal hair). The third being that the Shinigami "Bleach" the souls of the hollows and spirits sending them to the afterlife, cleansing them.

...

Also (and unrelated to above)...

Check this info out...

I like the names behind these voices... Power Rangers, vampires, alter users, bounty hunters, extremely-high-rewards bounties, and more. This makes me happy happy happy.

And now I know why Vash always sounded so familiar to me... haha!

And and, I need to remember to catch s-CRY-ed's repeat tommorow, because I forgot how Ayase sounded, since she only was in a couple episodes (ayase's voice actor is rukia's)

GoldenSama - July 24, 2006 07:56 AM (GMT)
XD

So Ichigo is being voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch? Awesome!

He was a the Black/Green Power Ranger. And Sakaki, and a Grass Ninja, and Lujon and -- the reason I know who he is -- Vash the Stampede!

That's cool. I'll have to watch the dub now when it comes on.

Dark Phazon - August 26, 2006 03:45 AM (GMT)
Aaaaaaahhh! I forgot that I haven't uploaded more volumes here!

I'll make up for it, I promise...

The end of the Soul Society arc, and the start of a new story!

Volumes 20 and 21
Volume 22

Note that Chapter 182 is the last chapter currently entirely covered by the anime. Essentially after that point, the anime started "filler" episodes (which are still awesome, just not based on manga chapters).

More's coming over the weekend, hopefully!

EDIT: Also, tell me if rapidshare or megaupload links are preferred. For me, it's easier to use both, as then I can upload two zips at the same time, but if one is preferred over the other, than I'll stick to the preffered one.

Kimiko - August 26, 2006 07:29 PM (GMT)
*hugs* :3 Bleeeach.

They're both about the same for me, DP. ;o

Dark Phazon - August 26, 2006 09:00 PM (GMT)
Bonus! Chapter 182, fully colored!

I'll probobly get the rest of everything up later tonight, when I get back on my laptop.

EDIT:

Volume 23 (Chapter 206 was also mistakenly in the last one, just so you don't think you're seeing double)
Volume 24
Volume 25
Chapters 225-239

Kimiko - September 10, 2006 05:37 AM (GMT)
Bleach Premired in teh U.S of A tonight! Discuss it! :3 COmpare it to the manga like I do all the time!

Dark Phazon - September 17, 2006 05:38 AM (GMT)
Wow, this dub is just... wow. Excellent. Orihime's voice is at least a thousand times better than the Japanese one (which sounds like the voice of someone half the age Orihime is supposed to be). And the other voices sound even better this episode than the last episode. The only voice that's so-so is Chad's, probobly because I was hoping it to be as low and direct as his Japanese voice, so I'll reserve judgement until the episodes where he (relatively) talks a bit more.

Oh, and one more thing:

A link to the first official-english-subbed episode (which probobly won't be around for long on youtube), for anyone who may have missed the first episode in English.

Kimiko - September 17, 2006 05:54 AM (GMT)
You may laugh at me or with me for this... but I always imagined Chad's voice like the wrestler in Rocky... ya know, Rocky. XD I don't know why!

Aaanyway... yes, this dub is a great success. The only tiny comaplaint I have is that it's hard to hear when someone says Tatsuki's name among English words... but that'll probably imporve as time goes on. P: Hm...

I was afriad Orihime was gonna sound like Hinata (same voice actress! Really, it's between how many ways she can gasp and say 'Naruto'), but I was surprised! It takes a voice actor a couple of episodes to really get into the swing of things (like Kagome's actress in Inuyasha), so I'm sure any problems I have will no longer exsist by the Soul Society Arc (though that's a ways away).

*sheds a tear* it's at least going to be next year before they get to that... And they'll probobly take a break from showing new episodes after the the run to Christmas 15-episode stretch is over... Though all will be forgiven if they get Crispin Freeman to voice Renji (Freeman's the VA for, Straight Cougar in s-CRY-ed, Alucard in Hellsing, Ebisu in Naruto, Holland in Elreka 7, and a lot of other characters who had awesome voices)

Do not get me started into my hatred of Hinata's English voice... >:(

And yeah, I agree with the pronunciations... Some of it feels like the VAs are trying too hard to pronounce names or japanese words (Kurosaki, Tatsuki, Karin, and zanpakuto are the ones I am thinking of off the top of my head) in a japanese way. Making them sound less like how they actually say those words/names in Japanese. And the way they are said in Japanese sounds more natural compared to their spelling, than the ones in this dub do...

If you missed episode 2 (and again, don't expect these to last very long on youtube):
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Gracias, DP! ^_^

I am gravedigging, but when I do it, it's called "Extreme Topic Bumping". When you do it, it's called gravedigging, so don't be like me. XD

Anyway! DP! The links are... well, inactive and dead. >_> I won't ask you to reupload them just 'cause I took a long time getting blank CDs, but could you inform me where you got the Bleach originally? Is there some site where I could download them?

Dark Phazon - December 21, 2006 10:14 PM (GMT)
Well, I originally downloaded many of the chapters from Bleach7.com, but many of their media servers have been down for the last month or so (which is sad, because they had the fastest servers of all the places). Back when I first made this thread, Bleachtv.com had all of the chapters, but the slowest servers, and Bleach Portal didn't have most of the middle chapters, and a weird downloading system. I have no idea about how they are now, however (as I've been sticking with Bleach7, as they update the most often with various Bleach related news; and I don't care about the servers being down as I don't have to download older chapters anymore).

If you want volume downloads, just tell me what you need or how far you've gotten, and I can re-upload them. I don't care about re-uploading them, because the only reason why I have anything manga-wise previous to the arrancar arc chapters is because I needed them to create and post those volume downloads.

If you don't care about downloading, just check out Bleach7's image-gallery site (it's the one I had BR post a link to in his previous post here). They have all the chapters there (as far as I know), and it doesn't involve downloading at all. You just might have to register for that gallery, though, to be able to view anything, but it's free, and you'd have to register-for-free at all the other sites I've mentioned in this thread, anyway.

GoldenSama - December 22, 2006 05:16 AM (GMT)
Thanks anyway DP-san, but as it turns out I DID download it all to my computer! I just didn't think to look there because I'm completely forbidden from downloading large amounts of files to this computer. Apparently I did anyway. XD
