Hey DP... notice how the Add Reply buttons have the blue border in Old School... >_< What can we do to fix that again, and what was the downside?

PNG transparency doesn't work on IE-based browsers, so you'd lose the shadow effects, and the curves won't look very smooth, with GIF transparency (plus all the problems getting rid of stray white pixels...).

And what about a sidebar?

Have you done it on the board's main page? That is the only place the skin will change. Currently you can only choose between this one and the older skin which changes the background.

Try it on the main page. And if not, it will change when you post on the other pages.

DP, in the Old School skin, and probably future skins too, the lack of transparency for the banner's corners, the Add Reply-type buttons' edges, and, for some reason I cannot determine, the right sidebar (the graphic on the far right edge of the board, seperating it from the checkerboard)... in all of those things, the lack of transparency makes it look bad, or at least out-of-sequence.

In your professional opinion, should we change them to transparent? I know we'll lose the shading effects, that's fine; but will the quality be too low? What do you think?

And, if you can let me see the Knux banner minus the yellow outside, I can decide and have it available by tonight. ;D

As for transparent stuff... For the banner, I can change the color of the would-be background, easily, to fit (I DO NOT recommend gif transparency for this, as it's too big and has too many colors to be just limited to 255 different colors). For "add reply" style buttons, I'll work on making them transparent, gif-style. For sidebars, umm... what are you talking about?

Ahh, this is so you can put the real banner into the skin, while this transparent pic goes as the main unchangeable banner... Or something like that... I don't really remember exactly how that worked the first time.

For temporary use as the add-reply buttons and similar: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v342/hpz...ther_stuff/srb/ <-the 5 near the top (don't use my photobucket links, though, just upload the pics to wherever you have to put them to get them on the board).

These are only temporary, because there are most likely, many white pixels I'm going to have to delete on them, due to the curves, and it'll take me forever to get rid of them all on each button (and hunting for those pixels is not a fun job).

:) I'm playing with the permission masks right now, trying to install some new stuff. I'm not sure how it'll turn out, but I can't test it on the test forum, because, well, no members.

I can see teh skins on Internet Explorer, CR-chan. I know that whenever Br adds a new one, mine goes back to Sonic 2.0 until I change it again. Maybe that's happened for you...?
