:Shadow: I of course think :Shadow: is more powerful for he does not need Chaos Emeralds

If you're judging just by Chaos Energy, than Shadow is more powerful than Sonic for the simple fact that Shadow was biologically engineered to be a user of chaos powers.

However, if you're judging by speed, Sonic is the best. I realize Shadow can warp with chaos control, but Shadow needs his rocket shoes to be as fast as Sonic. Sonic doesn't need his shoes to run as fast as he does (although without shoes, Sonic's speed would be so fast he'd burn his feet off. XD But still, Sonic is naturally faster than Shadow.

Hey, the results of the final battle between Sonic and Shadow differ depending on which story you play, so technichally its impossible to determine who won that fight. Besides, Shadow beats Sonic and a giant robot at the end of his own game.

What I argue is that Shadow is initially more powerful, as he has direct access to the awesome power of the Chaos Emeralds. It also has been seen that he isn't a slouch in the other departments, being willing and able to use weapons and push his powers to the limit.

Sonic on the other hand has less direct power, but more in the way of speed and cunning, and a good deal of experience and prowess to make up. Sonic Battle is one of my favourite games because it showcases Sonic's other moves- a fighting style derived from breakdancing and taking advantage of his speed and leg strength.

Going Super, nobody can say for sure... they manage to sort out their differences every time anyway...

So there's no clear answer, but I go Sonic, just because he's the hero and titular character.

Sonic has Chaos Powers too!

I've been trying to earn all 130 Embles in SA2, and today I replayed the boss fight between Shadow and Sonic at the end of the Dark Side Story; Sonic uses Chaos Control through the whole level; and I'm pretty sure that in Sonic X Sonic also uses Chaos Control.

Which is why I wonder something... If both Sonic and Shadow had a Chaos Emerald, and there were no advantages in the battleground itself and no outside help, and neither of them could enter their Super/Hyper forms... who would win?

Just a question on my mind. Anyone have any idea?

Honestly I really think Shadow would. For several reasons and one of them is not just because I like Shadow.

For one I am still not conviced on whether Sonic can really use Chaos Control. With a fake emerald and in Super Forms yes, but I will not make my descin until he does it in a game with a real emerald.

But besides that. Sonic has no experience with Chaos Based Powers. The only one he has is Chaos Control, which I still am not sure on whether he can use it or not. Shadow though is a master of controlling this energy, as demonstarted by Chaos Spear, and Chaos Blast.

Well, that's just it- Shadow's used to using Chaos Control, while Sonic may be able to, but hasn't had much practice. We know he barely has the attention span to try...

It's a different question between who is more powerful and who would win. The general consensus on who would win a battle is that Sonic has the advantage on solid ground, but Shadow would win in space. As for water, I don't think Shadow can swim either...

I think some people judge them in power or speed.What they can do is what matters. Sure, they both have speed and chaos control,but Shadow has guns, while Sonic has the speed to dodge bullets. And the Only reason Shadow is as fast as Sonic is that his shoes are specially designed to use chaos energy,so its like a mini chaos control, as in he's fast, but still able to be seen.Sonic was just born to run, or he ran as a toddler and had gotten faster every day.Sonic doesn't need Chaos energy like Shadow so Shadow always has direct access to the emeralds because he needs it.

Well, both can use Chaos Control, I know that... but where did you get that about Sonic's shoes? Sonic's shoes are just so that Sonic doesn't burn his feet when he runs... in other words, Sonic really is that fast himself, it's not the shoes, the shoes just protect his feet from friction.

I know about the shoes. In the book I read Uncle Chuck made them because Sonic always burnt his shoes.This will be proof to my friends that It's not the shoes It's Sonic himself. I meant that Shadow's shoes use chaos energy.

Shadow does have special shoes yes, but we have never seen him run without them. Whether or not this changes his speed is insiginficant.

Speed wise Sonic wins. In Sonic Adventure 2 on mutliplayer if you play as Sonic and Shadow in a race, they are even for the most part, but after a while Shadow falls behind.

Power wise Shadow is stronger. He is the orignal user of Chaos Control. He has a wide variaty of attacks, and his knowledge of them is superb.

Maybe we should just call it a stalemate.

Knuckles would pwn 'em both. XD

The Master Emerald would neutralize the Chaos Emerald's powers, leaving them both without Chaos Attacks, and Knuckles can just whail on 'em till they lose conciousness. XD

Of course I know this has nothing to do with the topic. In actuality, I think Sonic would win. Not because he's stronger, but because Sonic is more determined than Shadow.

Sonic's never-failing determination to do the right thing has allowed him to defeat Eggman, Knuckles, Chaos, Shadow, Metal Sonic and a variety of other foes over the years. He always finds a way to win, and he never gives up.

yes, but are you forgetting that Sonic and shadow can charge the emeralds and go HYPER? I know Knux can go hyper too(see S3&K), but Knux's hyper form's nowhere near Sonic and Shadow's hyper form. Tails's super form would be a different story. Tails has Birdies of DOOM XD

Except that Shadow never went Hyper, and we can't just assume that he can. But if we really wanna talk about Hyper mode in the first place, or Knuckles and Tails transforming, it gets to have some implications, especially since, at least in the games, those Super Emerald transformations aren't considered canon. But if they ARE considered canon, that would one-up Sonic over Shadow, as, like I said, Shadow was never seen being able to go Hyper.

If Shadow can go hyper, whould he go berserk like Super Sonic in The Sonic online comic in the media zone?

Crazy Super Sonic is just a Fleetway Comics plot device. Super Sonic was never evil or crazy in the Sega games or Archie comics.

In Fleetway, yeah, Super Shadow would probably be crazy; but Fleetway ended. So... the answer is no. :3

^_^; Well... perhaps as a homage to Fleetway, in the Archie comics, like #130 or so, when Sonic absorbed the power of six red Chaos Emeralds instead of seven green ones like usual, an "Evil Super Sonic" was created, which did go bezerk. ^^; (In the Archie comics, there are a lot of Chaos Emeralds, and on Mobius they're always green. Sonic was on an alien planet full of ant people when he found the red ones. Don't ask.)

As for the whole "Hyper Mode" thing, I'm pretty sure nobody goes hyper in the games, ever. ^^; Knuckles' "Hyper Knuckles" and Tails' "Turbo Tails" are, in the comics, on par with Sonic's "Super Sonic," though Sonic's "Hyper Sonic" is stronger than all those. Also he has many other super levels, the greatest being "Ultra Sonic." ^_^ But none of those are game-canon.

Do I think Shadow would go bezerk if he went Super/Hyper? Uh, yeah! XD Well, I wouldn't put it past him, anyway. He doesn't need to get Emeralds in him to go bezerk now and then though. ;D

both :Sonic: and :Shadow: are equally powerful. there equally fast, both can use choas control, both heros (most of the time) and if it came to a fight to the death they would call a stalemate or both end up dead.

Shadow is more powerful. Yes, he and Sonic are the same in many, many ways, especially speed, but strength is one area that Sonic cannot match Shadow in. I mean, Shadow once lifted a comet. A FRICKING COMET! As far as I know, and correct me if I'm wrong, Sonic has never lifted anything that heavy.

My memory is foggy, but wasn't Shadow in outer space when he did that? Cuz, I mean, if there's no gravity...

But, like I said, I can't really remember that very well (it's been a while since I've played STH), so I could be wrong and it wasn't in space.

Nope. It was on Earth at the end of Shadow. Of course, I forgot to take into account that he was Super Shad at the time.

Ya, now I remember it a little bit better. Though, ya, since he was Super Shadow, that doesn't really do well to try and say he's stronger than Sonic, as Sonic, when in super form, can take direct hits from gigantic warheads. And while I haven't seen him lift meteors, meteorites, or any other form of really big space rock, I have seen him smash right through said really big space rocks.

I haven't beat Sonic Adventure 2 yet A lot of people say Shadow is strong well that might be true but I think Sonic got Faster Speed.

The best way to settle it, it all depends on what the fan feels is the real path. Perhaps Shadow beat Sonic on ARK or maybe it was the other way around, who knows?

Me? I think Shadow's more powerful. Chaos Energy, guns, proper brute strength.
