Okay, so here's how it works. This is a Sonic RP, but it's also an origin story. Let's face it, we haven't done a Sonic RP in a while, so we need something totally different from before! We are going to create a Sonic origin story! The origins of the Rapidverse! How Sonic became a hero for the first time! Assuming the events of the Sonic games happened in the Rapidverse, this would take place even before Sonic 1 (as I remember, Sonic 1 was NOT the first time Sonic fought Robotnik!).

So, here's your chance to be creative! You can choose any character you want, but remember that if you choose any of the 3 Robotniks, you can't use them until the time is right, because I'm going to set up his origin first.

So, basically, this is a chance to create the origins of the Rapidverse, as I stated already, but also the chance to build an origin for your favorite characters! It should be stated that most characters don't know each other, so you'll have first encounters all over the place!

This place needs a new Sonic RP! Really, it does. I know this RP might cause some issues with continuity, so I was reluctant to start this, but I think we might be able to pull it off.

As an added note, take notice that whatever character you choose will be 3 years younger than they would be in any other Rapidverse RP.

There's no limit to how many characters you can have, but try to be reasonable.

The Picture must be what they look like during this point, so if you're an artist, this is a good chance to show off the younger version of a favorite character. The picture isn't necessary, so it doesn't have to be in your profile, but it's an added bonus for your creativity, right? ;)

But after thinking about it we have a problem. Shadow wasn't around in the Sonic series, for a long time. He also didnt come into the rapidverse until The Search Part 2. How would we get him into the story, but at the same time holding on to the continutation of the Rapidverse?

As for the solution... um... er... *lightbulb*

My original solution was to have multiple storylines, in which characters who have never met can not come in contact with one another. OR...

The Search takes place after the established characters have already met. It's before some of the newer games (Sonic Riders, Shadow, ect), but it's not the beginning of the series as this is.

We can have them meet and interact and, since we have our own continuity in the Rapidverse, change a few aspects of Sonic Adventure 2 and other games that would be damaged by our using them here.

Whichever solution is better can be used.

Option 2 would most likely work out the best. However we have one small problem for Shadow...

The ever famous, currently deceased and needed to be brought back alive Cathog: Nite.

If my memory is still correct and not being affected by amnesia then I believe Shadow met Nite in the Search...

But I found a loophole!

If I remember correctly then when I started the Search (As an uber noob) Shadow met Nite when he tryed to attack the giant ship/robot thingy Nite was in. Later on Shadow "stole" Nite and thats when the two became partners, and later on friends.

First Mention of Shadow:

Of course I wasn't in The Search Chapter 1 so Nite never got the chance to battle him.

So Nite knew of Shadow, meaning that they would have met before hand! Meaning that Nite and Shadow can coexsist in this Rp, and it will not ruin what happens later on down the road. For later on Nite decides to work for Eggman and is paid to go against Sonic and the Gang.

YES! It all works out.

All joking aside, GS, you've come up with a great way of fixing things! And I also gotta give props to Cojo for finding a nice loophole for Shadow. Also, who says Shadow even ages? He's the Ultimate Lifeform, afterall, right?

And now I'm REALLY excited! When you said we could change aspects of SA2, that gave me a really neat idea! The chance to combine different elements from all the early games into one big plot! Heck, since there's 3 Eggmen, we could even have each one trying to accomplish a goal from a different game! :w00t:

This works out well, I think. Sonic 1 & Sonic 2 had, basically, the same plot, so they can both easily be covered at once. And due to some similarities, we could even mix Sonic CD with the Sonic 1 + 2 plot. Why not? So, 3 birds with one Eggman! Then comes S3&K. This one's a pretty interesting one... but it, too, can be combined! What with? Sonic Adventure 1! Since S3&K has so much to do with Angel Island, as well as being the introduction of Knuckles, it's easy to pull off the whole Chaos thing, too! So, now we have Sonic Adventure 2 left. That one's pretty easy to do, and just for good measure, we can add the Vanilla the Rabbit being captured subplot of Sonic Advance 2 to it as an excuse to introduce Cream. The only one I'm not certain of is Sonic Heroes... the one scheming in that one wasn't even Eggman... but perhaps I could find a way to squeeze it in somehow later along in the story.

Okay, so you all know your Robotniks, right? Let's take a look at them.

Eggman = The one that looks like he does in the games. Threatening, but often times a little comical, too. Unlike the other 2, this one also has a good side to him... somewhere deep, DEEP down.
Robotnik = The one that looks like he does (or rather, did) in the Archie Comics. The most threatening of all of them, despite having the most flamboyant costume. Almost pure evil, no good anywhere to be found.
Eggbotnik = The most comical acting of them all, despite having a freaky looking face. This one takes the appearance of the one in AoStH. Very evil, but in a cartoony way.

Now that we have reviewed the 3 Robotniks, we have to decide which one gets which scheme. Keep in mind, when we RP, you can still spice things up and add your own stuff to these plans, so don't feel limited. Just keep in mind that we have to try to somehow squeeze these evil schemes in. Anywho, which Robotnik should get which plot?

Plot B ) Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure 1
Plot C ) Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Advance 2

Btw, I dunno if BR ever mentioned this before, but just so you're not confused, it was established quite a while ago that Prof. Gerald's full name in the Rapidverse is Prof. Gerald Kintobor, not Robotnik.

As for Sonic Heroes... I'll try to come up with a way to bring that in somehow much later in the story, and possibly add elements of Knuckles Chaotix to it.

Seeing as how I have not finished the original games, I would very much like to have Dr. Eggman have Plot C -- Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Advance 2.

Maybe we can work Sonic Heroes into things later on? After Metal Sonic has been introduced, seeing as how he's the final boss of Sonic Heroes and all...

That was precisely what I had in mind. Though, thinking back on it, the whole Sonic Heroes thing being mixed with Knuckles Chaotix... rather than that, maybe just having Mighty be part of Sonic Heroes, but not having the KC thing happen. Only 5 people in the world probably even played that game, so it's not all that important to the Rapidverse. However, Mighty should be introduced somehow at some point, seeing as how he was in the Rapidverse before, and not as a newly introduced character, either. The other characters did already know him.

We can find a way to get Mighty in here! :3

Cojo, I don't think that your loophole will work very well in this situation. Shadow is well-known in the underground and Nite has used Desty's machinery and computers to keep track of Shadow for a while. That is how he knew Shadow and of his abilities: it's impossible to avoid such a confrontation between Nite and Shadow, and thus he was getting ready for it.

And yes, at this time when everybody is good and going, Nite is still in his development phases, his mind inactive and at this time...

The mind of a 4-year-old who barely knows how to speak.

So it will not work very well. You all know that Nite's original age at the very beginning of The Search was 3-4 years old, and he matured much faster than anyone with his complexion should. Therefore... Let's just say that this theory will not work. I can't use the quintet of mercs.

There is a way around that... Desty hops all over the dimensional space and time at will, so he technically CAN bring them back in time to find something... But that would entail my character's knowledge about everyone. In another case, you can "randomly" find Nova one day and somehow persuade him to speed up the project, thus bringing Nite into the field ahead of time... But this will void The Search completely null again, since everybody will know who it is.

I see no logical way I can bring Nite into the field. There is always the alternate dimension theory... But that's still null wince this is the original rapidverse.

I'm out of ideas... And you know I can;t play original characters well at all. I haven't watched Sonic X for the longest time and I haven't played almost any of his games... And the ones I played I kinda failed to pass.

Somehow I feared there may be a problem with j00, me man, which is why I have a back-up plan! I never go anywhere without a back-up plan, and luckily I have one!

You see, it's simple.

Cobalt Memories = Our Heroes Meet Nite for the First Time.
The Search = Our Heroes meet Nite for the First Time.

How is this different? Because one 'M' is capitalized? NO! That is a typo I was too lazy to fix!

I'll tell you how it's different. At some point in the story (near the end), after Nite and our heroes become aquianted, Dr. Eggman will steal Desty Nova's secrets on how he created Nite, which will be bad for Desty since he doesn't want nobody else ripping off his brilliant work -- so he will use some cool Nova device to erase the memory of Nite from everyone he came in contact with; it will also erase Nite's memories of them. Yes, I know Nite is a psychic with control of his mind -- but Nova created him and would have to have some way to take Nite out incase Nite ever went bad; which he could use to a lesser effect to neutralize these memories.

Thus, this would allow Nite to be in the RP and interact with whoever he wants, while still protecting the Continuty of the Rapidverse and all events of The Search and following RPs, and also it would explain why Eggman is less evil in following RPs than the way I will portray him here; because, as you will see, Eggman is much the superior evil mastermind and malicious being here than he has ever been in other RPs.

You can feel free to reject this idea, but it does solve all problems! And to claify: The memory-erasing would be limited to knowledge of Nite and Nite's memories of events in this.

This can help to explain why Shadow and Nite developed such a strong bond (I.E. they knew each other already but didn't know it) and it would also explain why Nite knew so much about them all in The Search (I.E. He would believe it just from what he read in Nova's files, but in part it is becuase he really already knew them and with his psychic mind he had knowledge of them, just not memories of knowing them)

It also gives me an excellent loophole with Eggman as I explained already!

I... Actually had a similar idea about the memory-erasure. It's an interesting one, but this would... Hmmm...

Nite is technically not in full creation until a year before The Search... So if this takes place before...

It would limit his psychic capabilities. No psychic Crown, no amplifiers and most of all no Black Karma or "Chaos" Nite. Or what was his name... Yea.

But this idea works. We need to develop a loophole. And yes, Desty Nova has precautions everywhere, so he has a self-destruct code in every program and every crook and corner of his base. No ripping off the Nova. He's much too smart for this kind of thing.

But it also means I will need to use the old HQ. I forgot it's general blueprints already and erased the file that described it. I only have the improved one...

It should not be too much of a problem though.

Also, this would entail Robotnik stealing the KArma research, and since that's Desty's forte and favorite area, he set up dozens of precautions to keep it from enemy hands: backups, self-erasure programs, ETC. What we CAN do... Is something like a memory download. Robotnik, thinking he's smart and everything will attempt to transfer the data into actual memory bank for his mind to recieve and uploads it into his memory. But just as he finishes the download and tries to access it, a safety precaution kicks in and Desty's first Psychic Amplifier uses waaaaay too much power and wipes the memory of everyone in the area up to a certain point, melting down.

Desty of course knows about it and has built himself safety precautions, but... No one else will be protected. Eggman will lose all the data and even knowledge of the data's existence and the existence of Nova.

How does that sound as a general plan?

Your first post scared me there, HA. But you guys came up with a nice way of fixing things up. The only thing is that this RP still takes place 3 years before the Search, but I think the solution to that could be that after the erasure of memories, Nite would have to go into a form of suspended animation, because it would have affected his powers somehow. While in suspended animation, he's being "fixed up", so to speak. In a way, one could say being recreated. This might fix the discrepancy of continuity stating that he was created a year before the Search. But I dunno, ultimately it's up to you.

Btw, HA, I'm willing to share one Sonic X episode with you everyday if I see you on AIM. Sorry to hear about you losing all those eps. :hs:

And hmm... Well, it would not affect the powers... I am thinking that the psionic pulse from the Psychic Amplifier would overload Nite's brain and cause it to enter a coma state, losing all of it's memories in the process. This would entail that Nova has been working on the project for longer than usual... But it's doable. Solar has been in action for 11 years after all...

This sounds like it could be very interesting (and possibly something I understand, due to it being like an "origins" story, unlike TA, which just got me too confused with everything going on in it, for me to follow it). But I am wondering about something:

This is about these story connections... I think that Sonic 2 literally rolls right into Sonic 3&K, naturally (in sonic 2, sonic and tails shut down the Death Egg; in Sonic 3&K, sonic and tails stop it from rising twice), instead of looping it in with Sonic 1 and CD. CD also works better before Sonic 2 and S3K. And possibly, to balance everything, I guess Sonic Adventure could be placed with Sonic 1 and Sonic CD (after the Master Emerald is revealed, anyone could work with Chaos, making this story versatile)

I also have to mention, due to the fact that this game isn't as common (probobly only me, CPoC, and AGoI have played it, of the people currently here), that in Sonic CD, the "Special Zone Collect-it-Item" (instead of the Chaos Emeralds from the other Genesis era games) is Little Planet's Time Stones. These could possibly be used to help out with any of the problems that may pop up, or have already popped up.

Actually DP that isn't a problem.

As we stated, we're not going by the letter of the games. We're changing and shaping things to fit the Rapidverse. Thus, it doesn't matter what order the games are done in or which Eggman is the Eggman of which plot, because we can add a bit of originality to them.

So that won't be a problem at all. :3

I wholeheartedly agree. They'll be similar, but they'll be different so as to adapt to the Rapidverse. The only problems were with staying with Rapidverse continuity. The Rapidverse continuity is VERY different from game continuity, so we don't have to stay 100% true to the games. Rather, we have to adapt as much as possible to the Rapidverse. An adaptation is an interpretation. Thus, it is how the Rapidverse shall interpret those stories. In other words, this is how those things would happen in the Rapidverse. Meaning that they have to happen in a certain way that'll fit the Rapidverse, so obviously they'll be different from their original game form... forgive me, I feel like I was pulling a Mojo Jojo this entire paragraph.

Ahh... Okay, so that's how it all fits as a background for the Rapidverse. I don't know much about all that, so don't mind my rambling. :LOL:

Well, I'm all signed up and ready to duke it out. I have a plan on how you guys will meet Nova as well, at least somewhat of a plan. How else would you recruit Nite and Solar to your cause if you do not know their creator, Nova? So he is going to be the first face they see... And I just need to figure out how your respective characters would meet the crazy, flan-loving, eccentric man that is Desty Nova.

I'm ready. Too bad Nite will not know much about psionics... So his attacks will be simpler and yes, he still uses a staff and has an affinity with random firearms.

This time I'm going to bring him closer to his original fighting style, making him attack you with a staff, seek an opening and then suddenly whip out a gun and fire. I failed to make that clear ever since The Search, and I'm not forgetting it this time. The psyker is now an effective combatant as well.

I wish I had psychokinetic powers though... Get a glass of water without getting up from bed, change channels on a TV without moving a muscle... Such powers are perfect for lazy, annoying mercenaries like Nite and Solar.


Anyways, I'll end my ramblings and say that I'm ready at start any time.

We still need a few more characters to be selected... namely, the other 2 Eggmen. This might prove a bit difficult, seeing as how BR is, for the most part, unable to RP.

We can go ahead and try to start sometime today, if everyone is okay with it. All those who have signed up so far, let's take a vote. State whether you in favor of or against starting today, and if possible, your reasons and/or solutions.

I am in favor, but with one sugestion.

Cpoc, you should name all the charcters currenlt missing and up for grabs who you want, or who you think would be important for this story.
