OK, most of this is just from reading the Wikipedia articles, but the storyline of Sonic Rush and next-gen is confusing the hell outta me. Are they from an alternate dimension, the future, or both, or WHAT!?!??

This is probably gonna start a flame war as there is evidence to support almost any theory... this makes the 'Shadow is an Android?!?!??!' issue look easy...

I haven't played SONIC2006 yet, but from what I hear they are both from the future. X_X; Which is confusing in and of itself, as to which I'm sure DP will attest. But I'm not sure. I'm sure it'd be preferable if they were from another dimension though...

Cool, it's just my experience that discussions over this kind of thing will result in wars between one person who fervently believes one thing (eg, Shadow is a robot) and others who believe the other, etc...

There's some evidence to both- I mean, the Sol Emeralds seem like a paralell counterpart to the Chaos Emeralds, like you might see in another dimension- though apparently Silver's psychic powers are common in his world, meaning it has attained a higher level of evolution or what? (reminds me of X-men...)

Sonic Forever should prove interesting- I think I can fit in both theories, whichever one eventually proves true (like Shadow's status, they can't keep us confused forever). Since most of the story takes place in space anyway, it shouldn't be overly relevant.

Shadow's status has already been revealed. The Shadow in Sonic Heroes was an android, but the Shadow in Shadow the Hedgehog was the real Shadow... in other words, the android Shadow was not the real Shadow, therefore Shadow is not an android. Robotnik made several androids of Shadow, in fact, at some point in Shadow the Hedgehog, you see a whole army of Shadow androids.

But, enough about that... getting back to this Silver and Blaze business... well, they are indeed from the future, whether or not that future is in another reality or not is the part that's up for debate. It could be that the whole "different dimension" thing was just confusion among the characters in Sonic Rush, but either way it's plausible. Them being from the future is something known for certain, however.

Maybe its both. Blaze never said that if her dimension was in the future.Great.... another question for me to think about.

The confusion about this is revealed in Sonic 06 at the end of Silver's story. Go to Wikipedia and read about it if you want to. I won't post spoilers cause some people might not want them.

The wikipedia thing does make a little sense, but you can't really think about it much, or else it'll fall apart like most of the other theories (or at least it'll become EXTREMELY complicated, if you do think about it a lot).

Bottom line: game canon (possibly retroconned canon, but still) states that Blaze and Silver are from the future, specifically a future where telekinesis is common (like always!!) and pyrokinesis is considered grounds for teasing (jerks!). Also a future with a lava beast and Eggman Nega. ^_^ None of that is too spoiler-ish...
