Super Hero Cake Crumbs
The first one to awaken was The Professor, but that does not mean he was the first one to begin things.
Super Kimi never passed out when Teh Universe was destroyed. In a flash, she disappeared from where she had been and wound up in the Sub-Dimension. She was standing in the middle of a forest, and while she was shocked and confused, she had never been unconscious or under Obake or Soda’s control.
She had appeared in the middle of a dense forest. There didn’t seem to be anything around but trees, grass and clouds. She crossed her arms and leaned against one of the trees.
“Great,” Kimi sighed, closing her eyes. “Now what’s going on?”
“Your universe is gone, your friends are in danger and you’re powerless to stop any of it.”
Kimi opened her eyes and looked up. There was a figure standing not far away. He had his back to her, but she could see his hair was black and he wore a strange outfit. Kimi stepped away from the tree and shook her head in annoyance.
“Is EVERY villain stupid enough to think they can beat me?” Kimi sighed and ran a hand over her head. “The last thing in this world I am is ‘powerless’.”
“Really?” The figure replied. “In that case, why don’t you attack me?”
Kimi scoffed. “Do you even know who I am?”
The figure took a deep breath, and then spoke more than he usually did. “You’re Super Kimi, savior of Teh City. You live in a giant metal tower shaped like the letter ‘K’ with your sidekick, Wonder Sama, the Guardian Mojohanna and the aliens Zim and Gir. You like cake and –”
“Okay, okay, I get the point.” Kimi shook her head again. “So you’re a STALKER.”
“I am a ninja.” He replied. “And I’m the only chance you have. You’re friends are currently searching for Shards of your world. If they’re all found, your world can change. Your world can be twisted and evil, and the villains can take over forever. As it is, the Master Flan was destroyed. Because of that . . . your powers are gone.”
Kimi’s eyes widened for a moment. She then scoffed and shrugged it off. “I’m not believing a word you say. Ninja . . . bah, I’ve met ninja before, and you’re no –”
The ninja spun around and aimed a kick at Kimi’s head. She dodged to the side, but he was quick and spun a roundhouse kick at her. Kimi flipped backwards and then jumped up. She flew into the air and knocked him out with a well-placed kick to the face.
. . . At least, that’s how she planned it to happen. When she jumped up and tried to fly, she wound up falling and being kicked backwards, hitting the ground and rolling a few feet. When she tried to get up a katana was placed inches from her nose; that made her freeze.
“What’s going on?” Kimi yelled loudly; she looked up and could see the ninja’s face now.
“I told you, you’re powerless.”
Sasuke replied in a cold voice. “You won’t survive without your powers. As it stands, any powers you got from the Master Flan has been destroyed.”
Kimi felt like someone had just kicked her down . . . which, of course, Sasuke had. Still, the idea that her powers were destroyed and gone, possibly forever, hurt. She had gotten used to having Super Powers. Being able to fly through the air as easily as most people walk. The strength to lift a car over her head with ease, the speed to outrun bullets and trains and even bullet trains without breaking a sweat. Not to mention the laser beam eyes, the X-ray eyes and the ability to eat anything (inlcuding magical flan swords) without getting as much as a stomach ache!
Kimi lowered her gaze. Could it be true? Had she lost all of the powers that had made her a hero? Spoony was a nice guy, but she had a feeling he wouldn’t keep paying the bills for a gigantic K-shaped tower if she couldn’t save the world . . .
‘What am I thinking? Without my powers, our world is gone forever . . .’ Kimi paused on that thought as the reality set in. Her friends, her family . . . everything was gone. No more watching cartoons or yelling at Sama for talking on the phone with Blackfire during her shows. No more saving the world for LASOOF and THEM and all the rest of her enemies. It was over. Her world literally had ceased to exist, and without her powers, she could not save it.
“Are you giving up?” Sasuke asked. “Or are you willing to do whatever it takes to obtain your goal?”
Kimi looked back up at Sasuke. He was still holding a sword to her nose, but he sounded like he was offering to help.
“How can I win without my powers?” Kimi asked.
“Naïve. I told you that with the Master Flan destroyed, the powers you received from it are gone . . . however, you’ve also eaten Cake-Flavored Cake that was baked in a magical baker’s oven; and the Chaos Cookies themselves.” Sasuke reminded her.
“How do you even know about that stuff?” Kimi raised an eyebrow of suspicion.
“I was told all about you, remember?” Sasuke alluded to earlier.
“Yeah, yeah . . . how’d you find out all this stuff? ARE you a stalker?” Kimi demanded, pointing an accusing finger at Sasuke.
“No, fool. I was told all of this by a very strange man. He appeared before me and told me all about you, Super Kimi. He told me that if I helped you, he would help me.” Sasuke’s eyes seemed to be remembering some distant memory as he spoke to her, but his voice never cracked or broke once.
“Who was this guy?” Kimi asked; she didn’t have a clue who would want to help her.
“I don’t know.” Sasuke replied. “Nor do I care. The important thing is that I will offer you training.”
“Training? For what?” Kimi wasn’t sure if she liked the sound of that.
“You still have some limited powers. You cannot fly and your special powers are gone, but your strength and speed are still above normal. Not where they were before, but good enough that I could teach you to defeat him.” Sasuke informed her.
“Defeat who?” Kimi was really confused now. “The guy who asked you to help me?”
Sasuke shook his head. “No. The man told me that you would find an opponant. If you defeat him, you shall recover your powers. If you fail . . . you will die, and your world is doomed forever. It will live on in darkness and misery, and you shall cease to be.”
Kimi shrugged. “Yeah, yeah . . . that’s the usual outcome of failing for me; and as USUAL I don’t have a choice . . . I don’t suppose part of this training involves watching massive quantaties of cartoons, does it?”
Sasuke raised an eyebrow. “No. No, it doesn’t. The first training involves you standing on a log.”
Kimi groaned. This was going to be a long day . . .
A few minutes later, Sasuke had led Kimi down the foresty road and onto a Training Area. There were several evenly chopped logs lined up on the ground. All of them stood as they had when they were trees. The logs were arranged in five rows of five logs each. They were a few feet apart from one another.
Sasuke turned to Kimi.
“Stand on a log. You can jump to whatever log you want, but at no time can you get off a log or sit on one. You must remain on your feet and on a log at all times. Do you understand?” Sasuke passed on the instructions, and Kimi began to wonder how this was training.
She walked to the nearest log and jumped onto it. It was large enough that she could stand on it with both feet, but so narrow that she could not move well and it was not really comfortable to stand with her feet tightly together for a long time. She crossed her arms and yawned. She didn’t have her powers, but this was just plain boring.
“You think this will be easy?” Sasuke asked her, seeing her lackluster.
“Let me guess . . . I have to jump from log to log and not fall off, right?” Kimi asked, her voice flooded with boredem. “I always imagined you’d be more fun than THIS.”
Sasuke glared. “You are half correct . . . you must jump from log to log . . . as you avoid my attacks. This will teach you how to dodge.”
Kimi laughed. “PLEASE! I dodge stuff all the time! This’ll be easy.”
“You do remember you can’t fly?”
“. . .”
Kimi wasn’t that worried about this. True, Sasuke had attacks that could bring down even the strongest of enemies, and yes, she didn’t have her super powers to help her survive things like a Chidori or a host of fireballs; but she’d been in worse situations before.
“There’s one more thing,” Sasuke told her. “From above you, there will be several stones falling. All of the stones are smooth, round and black . . . except for one. It is copper-red in color and not at all smooth and round. That red stone is the one you are expected to catch.”
Kimi quirked and eyebrow. “What’s with the stone? Why do I need to catch it?”
“
Because I said so.” Sasuke replied in a tone that was both intimidating and rather childish. “That stone represents your power . . . if you let it fall, your power will be gone and lost forever.”
Kimi nodded. That was all she did or said; she understood the gravity of the situation and the impending doom that was sure to be holding hands with failure. She could not lose, not if she wanted to save her world and her friend.
“Are you ready?” Sasuke asked as he began to furiously make hand signs in front of his face.
“I am.” Kimi replied. Sasuke never gave her a verbal command that the test had begun – but when he opened his mouth he did shoot a fireball at her! Kimi jumped away from the log on which she stood and jumped to the lower log closest to the middle log.
Sasuke reached onto a pouch on his leg and extracted several shuriken and kunai. Kimi knew she had to time he jumps just right or she’d fall – or perhaps be skewered and barbequed by Sasuke’s powers.
Kimi jumped as Sasuke moved his arm, and she was able to make it to the right and away from the shower of shuriken that was meant for her. She looked at the logs she had stood on before . . . one was ignited and burning, the other was covered with shuriken and kunai. She realized that this was more dangerous than she originally thought it would be . . . she was down two logs already, and while there twenty-three more she had just watched two be destroyed in seconds.
Sasuke signaled that the test was far from finished when he unleashed a concentrated stream of fire from his mouth. Kimi did a backflip and wound up on another log. Sasuke replied to her third dodge by unleashed his Pheonix Flower Jutsu and the flames sailed at several of the logs.
Kimi had to jump and then immediately jump again to avoid being burnt with the log; and as she entered the second jump the flames licked at her foot and ankle. She escaped with only minor scorch marks on her pantleg and shoe, but she now found she had a new problem. She had reached the left-hand upper corner log, and the jump to escape from this log meant jumping over or onto a still-burning log.
Sasuke was preparing more hand signs, and he was doing so quickly. Kimi bit her teeth and jumped again, she landed on the burning log and quickly jumped again, but she could feel the intense heat covering her feet and had to grit her teeth. As she jumped, she felt a stone hit her in the back and realized that the falling stones Sasuke had worned her about were beginning to fall.
Kimi looked up in time to see several smooth, black stones falling from the sky. They were small and did not cause much physical harm when they hit her, but there were so many that Kimi was becoming distracted as she looked for the red stone. She wasn’t watching Sasuke’s hands, and he unleashed another Grand Fireball.
Kimi had to jump without warning and she landed off-balance and almost fell, but she was able to catch herself and jump to another log – and temporary safety. As she landed, she spotted a glimmer in the skies above them. It was the red rock, and it was falling
on the other side of the traning area!Even without the flames and the attacking ninja, Kimi couldn’t have made it in time having to jump. Still, she had to try. Now wasn’t the time to give up. Everyone was counting on her to pull through and save the world . . . That’s what heroes do, after all.
Kimi jumped and focused herself on catching that rock. She ignored the fact that the distant was too far and the stone was falling too fast; and she also chose to ignore Sasuke’s flames, which had just been spat again in her direction.
Kimi closed her eyes and extended her hands. Then she felt the stone land in the palm of her hand and her mouth broke into a grin! She knew it! Her belief in herself had given her the power all along! She was flying, and she’d caught the stone!
. . . Then reality hit – when she hit the ground painfully. She groaned and opened her eyes to see that the stone in her hand was a black rock – the red one had already hit the ground.
“W-What?” Kimi gasped, unable to truly comprehend what was going on. “I-I failed?”
“You failed.” Sasuke growled. “Your powers are gone . . . and you will never save your world or your friends.”
Kimi spun around to look up at Sasuke, but he was gone. The logs and trees and fire and shurikens . . . all of it was gone. The forest had melted away, and everything around her had become black and bleak.
“Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah! You fail, Super Kimi!” A cold voice spoke. Kimi looked up to see a Soda can floating in mid-air.
“S-Soda?” Kimi stammered. “What’s going on?”
“What’s going on?” Master Soda replied. “Don’t you get it? You lose. Game over.”
Kimi stared wide eyed . . . could that be possible? Had she really lost?
Master Soda’s lid opened with a loud crack. Out of the can came a swirling cloud of black smoke . . . it was the same black smoke that had come off of Obake’s body when he was killed by Spoony.
“That is Okage, the Oni’s Shadow. He’s a ally of mine . . . and now, you are in his grip. Good bye, Super Kimi, it’s time that you fail once and for all.”
Okage – the swirling smoke in front of her – had taken on the shape of a horrible face with monsterous teeth and a long, pointy nose. It started to move forward and bare down on Kimi – it was going to eat her; and consume her in darkness. Then, Super Kimi would be evil . . . forever.
The Professor woke up, and found himself standing on the ledge of a mountain. He was so high in the air that he could see nothing but clouds and frozen mountainside around him.
Then, in front of him, appeared Super Jimi and Wonder Hammah.
“Jimi? Hammah?” The Spork asked.
“Prof! What’s the matter with you?” Jimi asked loudly. “Don’t you know anything? Kimi’s about to be lost to evil forever!”
Professor AGOI quirked and eyebrow. “. . . Your point?”
“The point, professor, is that if Kimi goes bad, we don’t get our universe back! We’ll all be doomed under the evil Soda Empire – with Kimi as his weapon! Prof, please, you gotta help!” Hammah begged.
“How?” Darth Rowen asked Shadow, who had appeared in front of him.
Rowen was standing in the very basin of a deep valley. All around him was barren stone walls and the blazing light of the sun above.
“How?” Shadow echoed. “All living things are part of The Flan, which comes from the Master Flan . . . but the Master Flan comes from the Flan as well! If you focus your powers . . .”
“Then we might be able to restore our world!” Crystal Rose declared. She could feel the Flan flowing through her, and it was inspiring this idea.
Beside her, Tazzy was looking at the snow covered ground on which they stood. They were in the frozen tundra, with nothing but snow around for miles and miles.
“You’re right, Crystal . . .” Tazzy agreed. “If we can concentrate enough of our powers on the idea of repairing our world . . .”
“Then everything comes back the way it was!” HA announced to Desty Nova. He was in a small boat that floated through a dark ocean, and as the wind blew the waves against the side of the boat, a voice on the wind gave word to HA.
“That means we all gotta focus our powers!” HA declared.
“I don’t have Flan-I Powers.” Nova reminded him.
“Doesn’t matter! Everyone is connected to The Flan!”
“Which is why I’ve got to help too!” Mojohanna explained to Agumon. They were in the middle of a busy metropolis, and as cars whizzed by on the street she tried to explain things to the small dinosaur digimon.
“We all have the Flan . . . it’s what allows there to be a world where people can fly around and the guys on the back of cereal boxes can have a Evil Empire. Not everyone has Flan-I powers, but we should still be able to repair our world . . .”
“And while I would rather see a world where evil has a slight favorite,” Darth Phazon admitted. “I want that evil with the advantage to be ME, and not that stupid old soft drink master of mine!”
Phazon sighed as he looked at the zanpakuto in his hand. He was sitting on a bench in the middle of nowhere; a newspaper blew by with a tumbleweed behind him.
“Oh come on! I’m talking to you, reveal your name to me already!”
Rush was alone. He was standing in the middle of Darth CHoW’s Flancruiser. Several Flantroopers were dead around him, but CHoW was nowhere to be seen.
“Time to save the world.” He closed his eyes, and as everyone else was doing, he focused on saving the world.
“Kimi-chan! What are you waiting for? Kick that guy’s ass!” Sama yelled loudly.
He had just appeared in the whirling mess of darkness that Kimi was trapped in. Kimi looked over he shoulder and saw Sama. Her confusion only grew.
“She doesn’t have powers, she’s useless now.” Darth CHoW had just appeared on the other side of the darkness than Sama. “Kimi! You can’t defeat Soda as you are . . . just accept your destiny. Accept that the darkness has you.”
Kimi took a step towards CHoW.
“KIMI!” Sama yelled loudly. “There’s no such thing as destiny! You have to choose your own future! Your powers aren’t gone, you just think they are! Soda’s tricking you – and so is CHoW!”
Kimi paused and looked over her shoulder at Sama.
“Kimi! I know what’s I’m talking about.” CHoW yelled back at the superhero. “The balance is gone! Evil is all that remains! You can’t fight against it any longer; you have to join it!”
“That’s a lie, Kimi.” Wonder Sama shot back. “The balance is broken, yeah; but it can be repaired! Kimi, you’ve got the power to stop Soda and CHoW; you can save the world. Don’t give up yet.”
Darth CHoW shook his head. “Kimi, you’ve failed! Your time is up and you have to accept that! You cannot win now, it is too late! Just give it, I don’t want to see you die . . . come to evil, Kimi; and you can have everything you ever wanted! No more adventures to take away from your cartoons, no more talking TV making you fight bad guys or baffoon sidekicks burning down the kitchen! You can be in charge!”
“Kimi! No! Don’t!” Sama’s argument was becoming lamer.
Apparently Kimi could see that. She started to walk towards CHoW. Sama shook his head . . . Kimi wasn’t honestly consdiering evil, was she? That was impossible!
“Kimi-chan! Don’t!” Sama yelled.
Kimi walked right up to CHoW and stood in front of him, with her head down and her fists shaking. CHoW clapped his hands together happily.
“Oh good! Looks like I win.” Darth CHoW was beaming . . . and then he was thrown across the infinit darkness, a dent in his helmet where he had been punched by Kimi.
“Dumbass! I’m the hero! It’s annoying, sure . . . but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!” Kimi yelled loudly.
Instantly, a light began to flash and flicker all around . . . and then there was a flash brighter than any that was seen before.
When the light disappeared, Super Kimi and Wonder Sama were standing on the roof of the K-Tower, looking out at Teh City.
. . . but it wasn’t over yet.
