| In Sonic and the Secret Rings, if the player collects all seven World Rings and clears the game, an extra battle can be unlocked in which the player will take control of Darkspine Sonic. Instead of the Chaos Emeralds, it is powered by Shahra's spirit and the World Rings. Sonic's body (including his arms) become a deep indigo color, and his muzzle, stomach, and ears become pale. His pupils, irises, gloves, and shoes disappear, and he gains four big glowing rings around his wrists and ankles. He also has two thick, white parallel strips going up his forehead, a white stripe goes around his feet and arms, and has an orange fiery aura. In a sort of inverse situation from his other transformations, his quills do not point upwards, but instead downwards. His voice also changes to a much more menacing, slightly demonic tone, but his personality does not change suprisingly as this form is fueled by rage. Although not expressly a super transformation, Darkspine Sonic behaves and is unlocked in a similar fashion. While he is able to fly, he does not drain Rings, and the "invulnerability" effect is not gained, rendering the player vulnerable to regular attacks, although in some games it is shown that normal super forms are not that invincible, as they take damage as well. If the player shakes the Wii remote, the soul gauge fills, and Darkspine Sonic can use Speed and Time Break. Other abilities enables Sonic to use Alf Layla wa-Layla's own abilities against him. He can also kick and punch at a massive speed and shoot a destructive flare from his hand. This form focuses more on gained physical power as opposed to the magical power of the Chaos Emeralds. Darkspine Sonic is also mistakenly known as "Darkspines Sonic" due to a printing error in a strategy guide. |

Heh, I like to call him Viper Sonic, because of his coloring and his stripes. I'm working on a patch to put him in SADX right now, so stay tuned.

I dunno if that question can be answered.
According to Wiki, Super Sonic draws his powers from the Chaos Emeralds and has more of a magical, energy power. While Darkspines has more of a physical power.
So I guess it would depend on the circumstances of the battle.
Although, Darkspine doesn't lose rings every second, but Super is invulnerable...

Wowza, awesomeness. Now that I have Sonic and the Sercret Rings
and I'm almost done with the game, I can't wait to play as Darkspine Sonic. *goes and plays the Secret Rings non-stop.*

i think i might just have to finnish my sonic and teh secret rings game just to see darkspines sonic. (omg! he looks soooooooo awesome!! he should transform into that more often. <3)

I unlocked Darkspine sonic a loooong time ago and the final boss can be annoying at times but hes not that hard if you put a little time into it.

kinda like black doom and devil doom from shadow the hedgehog right? i beat devil doom on my second try.
