| Hello and Welcome to the Sonic the Hedgehog Rapid Board! Please register (it's easy and free!) and then post on our Introduction thread right away so we can welcome you properly! If you call this place Flantastic, we'll know you read the rules. XD Ultimate Ruler: Clown Prince of Crime (CPoC or Spoony) Assistant Rulers: GoldenSama (GS or Sama), R0UGE (J0HA), BlueRush (BR) Jr Assistant Rulers: Crystal Rose (C_R or CR), Kimiko (Kimi) Contact any of us for questions, comments, etc.! We're friendly and would be glad to talk to you! But first read the rules! 1. READ THE RULES A ) Doin' good so far. Rules are subject to change with or without notice, oh noes. 2. PLAY NICE A ) Respect everyone's opinion and contribute constructively to the conversation. B ) Do not be rude; there's no reason not to say everything in a non-offensive way. Please speak to a mod or admin with complaints about another member instead of arguing with them directly. We're here to help. :) C ) Give credit where credit is due. Don't claim you (or someone you know) made something if you (or they) didn't, and try not to steal bandwidth. D ) Respect the fact that more than one different version of something can be canon. (I.E., Sonic's games, comics, and TV shows. They may have different continuities, but they're canon unto themselves.) E ) Do not post false or difficult-to-verify cheat codes or guides. We accept GameFAQs as the accepted authority for codes. F ) It's common courtesy to warn others before posting spoilers. 3. DON'T SPAM A ) Use proper English at all times. We might be lenient if English is not your native tongue where you live, but we will not tolerate 1337-speak. Also, use CAPITALS properly; and please, do use them. B ) Contribute to the conversation. In discussions, RPs, and anything else that involves communication, make everything that you say something that can be responded to. Quantity is not necessarily Quality, but neither is a short, worthless post. A worthless post is worthless regardless of how long it is. C ) Don't double post. If it's a mistake, it's fine, we understand. :) We can fix it. Don't make it a habit. The only exceptions to this rule are in the fanfic, fanart, or media forums, but only if you're bumping the thread with new material. Also, admins and mods can double-post in other areas because... well, they just can. :p However, they very VERY rarely ever will. D ) Try to avoid posting in old topics if you don't have anything relevant to add to the conversation. Some sections, like the Animation Zone or Video Game Zone, might require you to post in an old topic... but you should only bump an old topic if you have something to say that's worthwhile. What's considered worthwhile? Try to use common sense on that. E ) Stay on-topic. If you stray from a topic, start a new thread and talk there. F ) Advertise in sigs only. Contact any mod or admin about affiliation, we'd be glad to. G ) Post count doesn't matter. Kindness, intelligence, passion, and loyalty to the Board do. Q ) Distribute a chain letter of any kind and the punishment will be greater than you can imagine. :) Have a nice day. H ) DO NOT SELL STUFF HERE. Things like A-Chan's homemade chao dolls are one thing. MEDICATION and MOTORCYLE HELMETS are totally not allowed and result in an immediate ban. You should be smart enough to see the difference between what we would and wouldn't allow. 4. AVOID THESE TOPICS A )If flame wars develop on topics that should've never come up in the first place, both sides will be punished. Also, be sure to try and keep any mention of these things away from your sig. Topics such as these...
No discussion, displaying, spreading your viewpoint, or attacking. In case this needs to be repeated, this also extends to avatars and signatures. B ) Don't Swear, you smurfing smurfs. Using one of the lesser curse words here and there isn't that much of a problem; don't make it a habit or bad things will come your way. Use of the bigger words will most likely end up being censored out by being translated into Smurf... but still try to avoid using those really bad ones. And who decides what's a 'lesser' curse word? We do. C ) There's no rivalry between SEGA and Nintendo, so don't fight about it. That being said, there's many people here who are fans of both. So to avoid any flaming, please... no Nintendo bashing. D ) ABSOULTELY NO ADULT CONTENT. You know what I mean. We get to decide what's 'offensive.' End of story. E) No flaming or harrassing other members. This has already been stated in Rules 1A and 1B. No pressuring information from other members either. 5. DON'T GET PUNISHED A ) Frankly, you have to be a TOTAL DIPWAD to get punished here. We're very understanding and nice. :) Don't be mean or disrespectful, and you'll be fine. If you are... The punishment depends on its severity of the deed. We'll decide how severe it was. We will speak to you and try to help you avoid the problem in the future. 1 ) We will warn you verbally. 2 ) We will raise your warning level. 3 ) We will suspend you for a short period of time. 4 ) We will suspend you for a long period of time. 6 ) And finally, under great duress... we will ban you. 7 ) We will sing "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" in your honor. These are dependent on severity, repitition, and our judgement. MODS AND ADMINS: PLEASE DO NOT SKIP STEPS WITHOUT FIRST GETTING APPROVAL OF OTHER MODS/ADMINS. THIS IS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT. Please note: trying to sell things without contacting the staff in private first will probably result in an immediate ban. B ) Don't misuse the report button. You weren't going to anyway. 6. KEEP YOUR AVATAR & SIG NICE A ) Avatar: Not much bigger than 160x160. Enter in the dimensions when you add it. B ) Signature: Reasonable sizes, please. About 300 height and 700 width. This rule is not enforced at all right now, but it will be if it gets bad. No image macros or small image collections. 7. HAVE FUN ROLEPLAYING A ) Read the Tips thread and RP intelligently and without godmodding. B ) Start RPs in the Signups subforum and get members before starting. All discussion goes on there. Make a new thread in the RP forum when you begin. C ) The GM, or the RPmaker, decides everything about an RP until things get out of hand or unfair, at which point an admin's decision takes precedent. We trust our staff to be fair. D ) Calling characters is a tough topic. Sharing is nice, people, don't fight over what you both love; there's WAY more important things in life. Have fun. :) Talk to the staff with any concerns or just to say 'Hello.' Be nice and we'll be nice to you, every time. ~The SRB Staff |
